Mine is always funky after winter storage too. Take it out, disconnect power and pull the fuse. No idea why this works, but it seems to. Also if your batteries are even a little low the fusion does weird things.
Seems to be about right. My bill was 10k last year for exhaust midsections and bang plate glass work. Figure 3k each for the motors and the rest in re rigging and glass work.
When the take the cap off there’s a metal piece that’s exposed. I had the whole thing glassed over and then the plastic...
Just picked up this 2006 130 Sport. Ran it a few times before winterizing. Lots of fun. Nice to have a small boat to get around in when I don’t feel like getting the Marlin out.
Don’t know my prop pitch offhand. I’ve got 900 hours on the motors and they run well. I trust them enough I had both exhaust midsections replaced this spring, so I hope to get a few more years out of them. That’s a whole other thing to read up on though and not unique to the F225.
I’d say 4500 or so, for fuel burn if nothing else. I don’t load the boat with ice or tuna though. I will say planing won’t be a problem. When I was looking I wanted a bowthruster, generator and AC and 250s. Boat I found had everything but had 225s on it. I sea trialed and found it to be fine so...
I have a 2005 with 225s. It’s fine, not a speed demon but doesn’t feel sluggish to get on plane. Real world numbers from pics I took on my boat with 4 on board and at least 3/4 full in both tanks:
4500 rpm 27 mph 20.8 gph
4600 rpm 29 mph 23.4 gph
4800 rpm 31 mph 24.8 gph
5000 rpm 33 mph 28.5 gph...
Had a custom top built for a 2007 208. Around 6k a few years ago, but came out nice. Look for fabricators in your area. Even if it came with a factory option it won’t be any cheaper.
I like it for food you don’t want on ice. Like sandwiches in the cooler. On the dock you can leave the batteries on, charger on and connect to shore power. Same for cabin lights, stereo and tv.
Can't hurt to drop the lower units and have a look at the exhaust as part of a survey. It will cost a little bit. For what it's worth, I have 2 2005 F225's and just had my exhaust done as preventative maintenance at 860 hours. They showed no corrosion at all. It's hard to get a good read on...
