I've seen this done on a Marlin that I was looking at. It worked OK, but the engines damage the inner edge of the transom when they are at full tilt. I suspect it may be similar for the 272.

I've NEVER heard of a 6 year old tank or hoses leaking. I'm assuming it wasn't used abnormally or abused, or nobody put a screw through it... I'd bet Grady would jump in and help on something like that.

It looks as though you can move your post forward a foot or so. That will move the weight forward- which may be helpful to reduce swaying.

I have an older model... but just pulled livewell out (port stern) to remove 2 stroke oil reservoirs. I had to pull of the toe rail and remove the small section of "wall" down by the deck. Then it was chop chop with the sawz all for access and removal.

I repaired mine. Took it off over the winter, grind out all the crap and huge chips. Filled with resin and glass fibers, sanded smooth, faired it then rolled on gel coat for a "non-skid" look.

Anybody know how to remove the vinyl cushion from the tuna door on a marlin ? It doesn't seem to pop up and off like the others. Thanks in advance.

If this ONLY happened after we got 6 inches of rain, I'd really suspect water coming in your anchor locker, windlass area etc. Water in the forward bilge after a big storm has been pretty common with most boats I've owned.

I suspect out on the swim platform a little gen set would be safe. the previous owner of my Marlin used this method.

I had a 96 Gulfstream with the F250 Yam, 25" shaft. It is a great set up. Get a 15.8X15 Quicksilver propeller from prop gods. You'll be happy.
