Alumaguard works great on all metal - ez on and ez off.

I am a local 265 owner also - bought the 03 in 06 with 84 hours on it and they have well over 1,400 now. Regularly maintained, did 1,000 hour service and had the mids updated. Engines run like champs. I should be back in the water mid March if you want to check it out.

I just use ringfree but we run the boat a lot - most seem to have problems when boats sit? The fuel we buy is also already treated with some chemicals too.

I have a 265 express and we used to tube with my kids all the time - waterski no. As for beaching, never really "beached" but have brought into shallow water to go to the beach, etc. When engines are up we can walk the boat in really close. Hope that helps.. EPPE

I have fished the tails (about 75 miles from Montauk) on my 265 express with the same power. I have range to get there and back with some trolling but not enough range to run to far east or west along the edge, hope that helps.

Any good Yamaha shop and mechanic worth their salt would have been telling their customers and suggesting that lowers be dropped and engines scoped. Find another dealer and get another quote for sure!

2003 265 express - like the above poster said, do not overtab. Great platform for fishing and family fun. I've taken her into 2 feet of water for fun on the islands or 75 miles offshore to the Northeast Canyons. Lots of happy 265 owners who are here to help, good luck!

My 265 has two hooks on the top to hold the riggers in place when up - I can send a photo if needed.

Like the last poster said, check the pump. Also, the hotwater heater should have been drained and by-passed so no way that would crack. check to see if they bypass was taken off and everything reconnected correctly?
