    Slippery Helm Deck

Sounds like it is overfilled and the vented cap is doing its job. It is not supposed to be filled to the top. My boat still loses some through the cap when it is in the 90's, even if I leave the back drop curtain open and even though I think the reservoir is under-filled. I had all the seals...

    Aft Bilge Pump 06 Marlin

To answer one of your questions.....yes there should be a seperate fuse for each pump. The fuse will be under the aft seat near the batteries. I believe it will be a brown wire. Unfortunately it is probably not the problem, but obviously worth checking before trying to replace the pump. Good luck.

    Bottom Paint

Last season I didn't even do a touch up. All that needed to be done was the trim tabs. The bottom looked good so I didn't touch it. It actually looked pretty good again this season, but I couldn't get myself to trust getting a 3rd season out of it so I am doing a full paint before launching.

    Replacing Marlin Bolster

I had mine redone 2 seasons ago...a 2000 Sailfish. I didn't need the seatback section done. The cost was around $400 for just the combing. I was quoted $350 for the seatback. This inluded the labor to come to the boat and remove the old and return with and install the new.

    Replacement parts POC?

If it were me I would find out who the closest Grady dealer is and call them. Better yet, If they are not too far, drive over and introduce yourself to the service manager. He may become your new "best friend". I have owned my Sailfish for almost 12 years and have not had to contact the factory...

My freshwater pump keeps going buuuurrrrrrpp!

I have never had that problem. I was always able to just unscrew that bolt using small adjustable pliers.

My freshwater pump keeps going buuuurrrrrrpp!

I don't know if it is the same cockpit shower head as on my 2000 Sailfish, but I take mine apart every season to clean, lube and stretch the spring out so the on/off button doesn't stick open. I use a bottle opener (aka church-key) to unscrew the sprayhead. The flat end fits the slot perfectly.

I FOUND THE "WATER IN FORWARD BILGE " PROBLEM !!

For what it is worth, you should make it a practice to close all seacocks when not in use.....including livewell and raw water washdown.

Proper Use of the Live well

My 272 has a long tube that screws into the center drain. This allows the water level to fill to the top of the tank and then drain out the top of it to the overboard drain. The tube is stored under the back seat where the batteries are located. This allows constant turnover of fresh salt water...

    265 Express Fresh Water Pumb

I pulled the screen out years ago on my Sailfish. Now I just clean the faucet heads every once in awhile. I got tired of removing the back panel every time the water pressure dropped.

2001 30' Marlin Auxiliary Battery Problems

How old are the batteries? If they have been on the boat 4 or 5 seasons and not well maintained then it is definately time to replace them. I would agree with the above posts also that factory rigged, the motors should be recharging them when running. The other consideration is that if your...

    New BFT Regs out today!!!!

We were lucky enough to get out and land one yesterday. CFL was 71 inches. Found out last night about the new regs. effective Saturday. Looks like we got in just under the wire. It will be interesting to see if we can find any smaller fish this season. Personally I would prefer the 55 inch fish...

1997 Sailfish with twin Yamaha 225's

I assume your refrigerator is powered the same as on my 2000 Sailfish, which means it runs off your house battery. The on/off/temp setting switch should be in the upper left side of the fridge. My motors end up tilted from time to time. Typically caused by wave action. Water in the...

WOT RPMS for Counter Rotating Twin

Another possibility is the props. My port motor ran about 300 lower than my starboard at WOT when the boat was new. After alot of checking and headscratching, taking a little bit of the cup off the port prop brought the engines to less than a hundred RPM's apart. One way to check is to try...

    Sailfish Trailer Cost

If it were me I would consider getting it hauled back and forth and invest in 4 jack stands. If you don't plan to trailer the boat anywhere besides your house and back once each year, and you don't have too far to go, you can probably go ten or more years paying the haul before you break even on...

    Engine oil at Prop??????

More likely than not it is just the fogging oil that was used when winterized. If it is, then the dripping down the skeg and out the prop is normal.
