Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

FYI Here is a pic of my boat with the ball tied up on the stbd front rail. Not in the walkway, and not blocking my view from the helm, but right THERE where it needs to be when it's time to deploy it... viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24298

    1996 Tournament 192 w/E-Tec 150 - Engine Questions

First thing to do is have someone look down over your transom at the motor while the boat is up on plane and trimmed normally. If the cav plates are not visible (slightly above, at, or just below the water flow) you have your motor mounted too low. Raise it up one hole at a time until you get it...

    Tournament 225 performance

Obviously, something is not accurate, I'd suspect the Yammie gauges. NO WAY an engine turning at 6100 RPM is going to burn almost the same amount of gas as one turning at 4000 RPM!

    Tournament 225 performance

Something does not make sense here... why is your stated fuel economy at 6100 RPM almost the same as it is at 4000 RPM? Faulty gauge?

Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

Great, glad to help. Just curious...why does the ball need to be stored below decks? Why not leave it tied to the rail where it will be at hand to use when needed?

    Bilge pump

This is a common problem ever since the mercury switches were eliminated on bilge pump switches. Most switches now have a rolling ball inside the floating arm which tends to get hung up over time. Obviously it is VERY important to repair this ASAP. Quick and easy fix, just replace them and...

    Possible Re-power 07 Marlin

Sure thing Family Affair....As you can see in my sig, Finest Kind is a 1988 Trophy Pro....25 foot hull w/o bracket or pulpit, actually around 28 foot running surface and around 30 foot overall...or at least that is the length-basis my storage facility is charging me! check out the specs here...

Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

If the 12" does not do it for you (IMO I don't think it will have enough buoyancy) return it and exchange for the 15". I tie my 15" ball to the stbd rail up close to the bow pulpit. It's does not block my view ahead and it is not in the way since it hangs off the rail on the outside and does...

    Possible Re-power 07 Marlin

Another point I forgot to make in my reply above: NO BREAK IN PERIOD! Run em like you stole em as soon as you take delivery. This plus all the other input listed in all the posts above....Again I ask...Whats not to like?

    Possible Re-power 07 Marlin

Another (biased) vote for the Etec.... You wont even see the gas gauge move after trolling 6 hours at idle speed with Etecs. When the fishing day is over, open her up and run full throttle for a mile or so and you will blow out any carbon that might tend to accumulate. Fly by wire STANDARD...

    Windlass- Need Help

Try telling your crew to "hold on" and goosing the the throttles in reverse. The jump backwards will usually cause a hung anchor to loosen and drop.

    06 330 Livewell Troubleshooting

Why not just make that jump to a nearby ground permanent? As long as the livewell pump still goes on and off when you toggle the switch its all good. The pump doesn't care where the ground wire comes from... Don't fix it if its not broke.

Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

If your ball does not float your 14# Delta and 25' of chain, maybe you need a bigger ball? I use this 15" diameter ball and it floats my delta with 30 foot of chain no problem: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000M ... UTF8&psc=1 Regarding zip ties, try it out on land first by wedging the...

265 express owners check this out!

I agree 100% THESE BOATS ARE SEAWORTHY! They will take A LOT MORE than the crew can take, that's for sure. I did that same run myself but in reverse...left Manasquan Inlet and ran those 7 miles north to Shark River Inlet a day (or two? cant remember now) before Sandy hit...that was the SCARIEST...

Front anchor eyelet problem on 226 Seafarer

My 30 year old bracket needs replacing too. What I did in the meantime is affix a wire tie through the weaves of the rode approx 10 feet from the very end of the anchor line...so I know that when I see this tie come up through the anchor locker I need to STOP letting out line and tie off to the...

Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

Agree 100% that this method should not be used for overnight anchoring, I'll just use it for a few hours at a time while fishing. I will carry an extra shackle aboard, and simply add the shackle to the chain at end of the anchor shaft around the zip ties to secure it properly if I wanted to...

Lewmar Delta Anchor - HOLDS TOO WELL!

Live and learn....Gonna rig my new anchor from the top hole and use zip ties to hold the chain along the shaft. Next time it hangs up, the ties will break away and the anchor will (should!) come out easily since it will be coming out "backwards". like this...
