Something does not make sense here... why is your stated fuel economy at 6100 RPM almost the same as it is at 4000 RPM? Faulty gauge?

Great, glad to help. Just curious...why does the ball need to be stored below decks? Why not leave it tied to the rail where it will be at hand to use when needed?

This is a common problem ever since the mercury switches were eliminated on bilge pump switches. Most switches now have a rolling ball inside the floating arm which tends to get hung up over time. Obviously it is VERY important to repair this ASAP. Quick and easy fix, just replace them and...

Another (biased) vote for the Etec.... You wont even see the gas gauge move after trolling 6 hours at idle speed with Etecs. When the fishing day is over, open her up and run full throttle for a mile or so and you will blow out any carbon that might tend to accumulate. Fly by wire STANDARD...

Try telling your crew to "hold on" and goosing the the throttles in reverse. The jump backwards will usually cause a hung anchor to loosen and drop.

Why not just make that jump to a nearby ground permanent? As long as the livewell pump still goes on and off when you toggle the switch its all good. The pump doesn't care where the ground wire comes from... Don't fix it if its not broke.

I agree 100% THESE BOATS ARE SEAWORTHY! They will take A LOT MORE than the crew can take, that's for sure. I did that same run myself but in reverse...left Manasquan Inlet and ran those 7 miles north to Shark River Inlet a day (or two? cant remember now) before Sandy hit...that was the SCARIEST...

Agree 100% that this method should not be used for overnight anchoring, I'll just use it for a few hours at a time while fishing. I will carry an extra shackle aboard, and simply add the shackle to the chain at end of the anchor shaft around the zip ties to secure it properly if I wanted to...

Live and learn....Gonna rig my new anchor from the top hole and use zip ties to hold the chain along the shaft. Next time it hangs up, the ties will break away and the anchor will (should!) come out easily since it will be coming out "backwards". like this...
