    Gulfstream

I had a an 05 Gufstream and it was powered with F225. There was never really an underpower issue. If the budget allows, it a little more speed and power is always nice. Twin 150's would be great . 300 certainly a big upgrade over 225. Good luck i- 23 is a great boat for it's size.

possible repower of 282 sailfish or 300 marlin

When we purchased our 2004 SF - we had two to choose from - the other boat was a 2005 with the fold down transom seat. Since our boat was going to be used 50/50 fishing cruising, the cruising side won out bc they thought the molded seat was more comfortable for lounging and relaxing. . We...

has anyone replaced livewell hose on a 282 Sailfish/

I have not had the pleasure of completing this task as mine is still in decent shape. That mid berth wall supplies a lot of access to wiring and water hose to the cabin area too.

    2008 - 282 Sailfish prop pitch / bow steer

When I had F225 3.3 engines on my SF it had the same props as you 15 1/4 x 19 ansd I would get 5000RPMs. When I put new 4.2 L f250 on it we stayed with 15/1/4 x 19 bc Yamaha had a back order on props. We were only getting around 5000 RPMs. Eventually change props to 15 1/2 x 17 and we popped up...

    Electric lounge seat

My first Grady was an 85 Seafarer and had one option a side fresh water faucet - the first weekend we bought the boat the pump had died. I remember returning to the dealer for a warranty claim and the dealer said boats should made with as few moving parts as possible. Can't believe the number of...

I have always disconnected the negative on the 3 batteries in November and just reconnect in April. Never had and issue with batteries not holding their charge unless the battery was at the end of its life cycle. If I'm working on anything electrical on the boat in the spring. I will use shore...

I had an 85 Seafarer it was a good but it did give the body a beating in choppy waters. The 85 is till running strong with a new owner. Is you...

    272 Sailfish re power

I had a GW dealer tell me that it was not necessarily a weight issue (may be in some cases) but from an engineering POV, it was the amount of thrust, particularly from the 4 strokes. As some said earlier the f225 are a very good match for that boat with plenty of power.

    New To Me Sailfish 282

You could run the wire down the pipe attached to the overhead box to the lower box. Lower box - follow wires to the wall behind the aft cabin(should be an access panel in the aft berth). This is the area where your head holding tank, macerator and fresh water pump are installed . From there...

    Fresh water tank filling issues.

Since we have determined that you are using the correct fill, the vent is functional and the electric pump is working it sounds like a blockage somewhere along the fill line - have you tried either blasting water in by sealing around the hose and fill with rags or using a wet vac to suck out the...
