    Selecting the right EPIRB

EPIRB is also on my list for this season... Has anyone ever heard of a Grady going down so fast that a manual EPIRB couldn't be activated by way of ditch bag? From what I have heard/read, an automatic would have to be 12-15' under water before activating, and all I have ever heard of were...

Anyone add a 2nd Bilge pump in the stern of their boat?

Here is my set up, good, bad or ugly. Back-up Rule 1500 pump with high water alarm, about 9-10" up. Yes, I am replacing that hose, as soon as I find somebody that can reach that thru-hull! I paid to have that put in but didn't specify the hose... I am not so concerned about while I am on...

    Tow Vehicles

Running a drop hitch to get 'er as low as possible... Truck actually only squats an inch or so, 3500HD. Planning bunk modifications so I can get my trailer level and spread the load over all 3 axles better. Only 13K lbs in this picture.

What NOT to do while towing

Drive off after trusting your 16 year-old to hitch up the trailer... Made it all the way to the ramp, backing down the ramp and BAM! Lifts off the ball and trailer does a wheelie, caught by the chains... Drive off from a restaurant without checking the hitch... Going down a construction...

    Hard top capacity?

Is there a way to actually look this up? Is there an actual capacity? I can't even put a life raft on the top? I've seen quite a few 282 and up boats around with Cobia towers and/or control stations on top, but I read on here that the tops cannot take any more than 100 lbs... Does this...

Pulled first image. How does it look?

Does anybody have some comparison photos, or links to them to show good these exhausts in good condition, early stages, and "needs replaced" condition? I am pulling my lower units so I went ahead and ordered a scope to attach to my tablet that takes video and still shots with a light. Need to...

    Lee Outriggers

I know this is REALLY old, but you know everybody says "search first", right? When I trailer (and when my boat goes on the storage rack at the boatel) I lay my outriggers down forward and bungee them to the rails and zip-tie the rigging so it doesn't bounce around. I was thinking of making a...

    Shower sump pump ?'s

I guess I should have elaborated a little more. One of the hose barbs is broke off and the lid is missing. I need the sump box.

    Shower sump pump ?'s

Went into the way-back machine looking to find info but came up blank... I need to replace this sump so we can use the shower. The GW Part Number is 11-414. Does anybody have a suitable cross-reference to a currently sold sump, OR, an old 11-414 sitting around?

    Marlin Height On A Trailer:

I pulled permits for a trip to Hattaras a couple of years ago and fully disclosed 14'6" height. Got routed through a 13'6" restricted tunnel. Lucky I knew about the tunnel and how to go around...

    Panel purpose?

Ok, and there is a grounding bar as well... These are my wires: Red = 12V Black = Ground Grey = Drain (shield) Drain is supposed to be hooked up to the boat's "RF Ground Point". What/where is that? I guess that is what I should have titled the post?

    Dead outlet?

While I was at it, I added this set of outlets and meter. The meter is what is shown in the above photo somebody asked about. I was testing the wiring with it since it was handy. These are panel switched, 15A.

    Gulfstream Cabin Rod Storage

I took these for you. Factory installed 2004 Sailfish: Now, if anybody has a clue how Grady intended the bungies to be used... I have my own method, but it isn't intuitive and the rear slots are not utilized.

    Panel purpose?

04 282 Sailfish: Is this where you hook up the "drain" ground for a new transducer/bottom machine? First time seeing something with a "drain" wire.

    Gulfstream Cabin Rod Storage

I have them on mine out in the driveway. If no photos by lunchtime tomorrow, I'll run out and get you a couple. My Sailfish has storage for 10, but I carry 14. Looking for ceiling options...

    Dead outlet?

Solved! Today I was pulling wires through the tubes and up to the rigging area and I noticed that the wires going to the Stbd side were the wrong color, and had some extra coiled & tied off. Looking like that side had been repaired, I found that it was the far left bottom fuse in the block. It...
