Please read the Loveshack report about cruising the great loop. http://site.loveshackcruising.com/ Fuel burn on any outboard would be significant. On shore stays would add to that.

    Vaseline Solvent

Any one have experience with COMPLETELY removing lubricating residue from vaseline. In reassembling a pump I must have gotten a trace on one screw and the screw won't seat in the plastic housing. It backs out 1/16 turn after removing pressure from the screwdriver. I've tried degreaser, alcohol...

    New A/C on a '99 Sailfish

The installation was done by PBMC, Grady dealer. The data sheet says not to hard duct the unit so it is open to bilge. Unit is under galley. My RA is in aft cabin behind steps. Make sure it is uncovered when the unit is running. Main supply is in cabin step riser, second supply inside head on...

    Jabsco head pump

The electric conversion is a troublesome unit. Your leak is probably from the paper gaskets on either side of the ss wearplate in the macerator housing. I have to replace mine every 2 yrs or so. Mine just started leaking again and after replacing the gaskets it started leaking at the lower shaft...

Gas in bilge, very small amount 272 98 Sailfish

When you changed the sender did any fuel spill on top of the tank. When I changed mine I extracted it quickly and the fuel in the tube spilled on top of the tank eventually working into the bilge. Squirt some dawn into the bilge to neutralize any remaining fuel.

    Horizon 500 Windlass

Problem Solved! Finally got back to the boat and found that the anchor line had piled up in nice 10" diameter coils between the stem and threaded rod connecting the bow eye to the lifting eye behind the windlass.

How long is too long in the water w/o bottom paint

It depends on how aggressive the saltwater environment is. In S. Fla canals calcium worms will cover the bottom in a week. Ask the Marina if you can keep it in uncovered storage until you go into the barn. Otherwise clean the bottom weekly or keep it out of the water.

I reglued my velcro but not happy with it. Never thought of a frame but will investigate. Sounds like a good solution if you can get around the hatch hardware.

    New A/C on a '99 Sailfish

The good thing about the hatch mounted unit is that is self contained and cools the cabin altho I've never used one. A 110 connection is required. Much like a roof mounted RV unit. Marine air requires a 110 v outlet thru hull fittings, pump and a remote mounting location plus routing supply and...
