    Fell while washing Voyager today

Were you wearing Crocs? Had a similar fall coming down the bridge steps on my 272 wearing Crocs. Now I wear my Topsiders when washing. I've been on boats my whole life and never had a slip like that.

    Marlin trim tabs and zinc

You are confusing marine growth with galvanic corrosion. Separate animals. For marine growth the tabs, and other metal parts permanently in saltwater, need to be primed properly and painted with appropriate antifouling paint. The zincs are sacrificial anodes that capture stray electrical...

Need good hand soap for fish cleanup

If you use Clorox it kills the smell, slime and bacteria. I use it after I've cleaned a bunch of spiny fish and am stabbed and finned by fish parts. Works great and alleviates infection and soreness. Learned it from an old Keys commercial guy years ago.

OX66 saltwater series II exhaust spitting water

I noticed the same thing on my '98 225 OX 66s. Service mgr. said that each engine spits differently. Early on a lot of techs were trying to find a reason for it. Yamaha sez its normal variation between engines produced and doesn't warranty it. My stbd spits more than port, my dock neighbor's are...

    Horizon 500 Windlass

Horizon Tech said my line might be piling up and causing the glitch. I'll check on next trip. Said if line piles up to less than 12" to deck the problem can occur.

    Horizon 500 Windlass

Other than a jammed gear a few years ago my windlass has been trouble free. However, this weekend when retrieving anchor the gypsy would not get past the line splice & pull the chain. I could manually bypass the splice & retrieve the chain but at the splice, the gypsy would turn without picking...

    ac unit on 2005 Marlin

If your unit is a Dometic the mfr. of the pump is not Dometic. Boatowners Warehouse offers the same pump Dometic brands for a lot less $. My pump was installed in 2006. Started making a lot of noise in 2009. Turns out the impeller system is isolated from water flow and runs off a magnet...

    Retrofitting fridge in a Sailfish

A number of people remove the refrigerator and convert the space to storage. My ac unit is under the sink and there is still plenty of room for my refrigerator. I used it a little when I first got the boat but now I just store stuff in it.

    fuel sender where to find

Use WEMA, they sell direct and much cheaper than dealers. I replaced my main tank sender a few years ago.

    Overheat/poppet valve and trim tabs

I used straight vinegar, I don't know how effective it would be diluted.

    Overheat/poppet valve and trim tabs

I just redid poppet valves, housing & hose. Mine were very salty so I sprayed Saltaway on them. Results were minimal. At the suggestion of a forum member I used white vinegar and that provided dramatically better and far cheaper results.

    Marlin Hull Value

Having bought an inboard boat that was "fully" repaired after settling at dock, except for wiring, by a reputable shop, I would replace all wiring from the fuse blocks to the aft, engine harness & gauge wiring, under deck pumps, battery switches and wiring, grounding plate connections...

    Overheat Warning

I think the fouling caused the low rpm & hence the overheat. Do you have the test procedure for the O2 sensors?
