Looking to add trolling motor to boat....

trolling motor If you can, try to mount it to the opposite side that your two batteries are located. If the driver, batteries and kicker are all on the same side the boat will lean that way...........Tom

Best 4 stroke hp for 20' and 22' grady cc

CC I think you answered your own question with the reference to performance. I have a f150 on my 209 that lives on the Sea of Cortez and really like it, for this boat economy is an issue. Moving up to 6 cylinders the weights are all close and the f250 really shines.....Tom

shipper Yesterday my 258 arrived from Baltimore here in San Diego. The shipper I used was Phillip Johnson Trucking..(334-677-5464)...he is a pro, I am very satisfied. the cost was 3,800 and would had been 500 less if my boat had its own trailer.. fyi u-ship gets 11% off the top. I found...

    226 vs 228

228 In regards to the loa. The 228 by adding 30" of bracket puts the boat @ 24ft 6in. The 248/258 loa is 24ft 9in for more boat and better ride with about the same economy..Tom

    226 vs 228

228 Hi, I recently moved up after owning my 228 for 18yrs. The 228 is great choice that I highly encourage. It has had a very long production life with minor changes, raising scupper height to handle 4s weight. The bracket may look odd but I think is the way to go.........Tom

    Sea of Cortez cruising

my kind of trip Hi, the first thing to keep in mind is there is no coast guard.... and then remind yourself often. We keep a 209 at our place near Conception Bay for many yrs. so that is my favorite area. There are two travel clubs with tons of help and info..discover baja, and vagabundos del...

    Gulfstream 232 or Journey 258 ??

Lots of good info here and I'm enjoying reading it all but I don't think someone else will be able to answer your question for you. IMHO you've narrowed your selection down to two very fine choices and because of that, for better or worse, it's harder for one to stand head and shoulders above...

    Gulfstream 232 or Journey 258 ??

232 I just made the change from a 228. I thought the long reach over the stern on the 232 would be an issue, but everyone who has one seems to love them, so I'm probably wrong....I went with the 258. Really hard to go wrong. Tom

    209 Escape, best size motor,150hp,200hp,225hp?

209 My 98' 209 w/ t-top came with a 225 FI 2 stroke and made for a very fast boat. Two yrs ago I replaced with a f150 and am very happy, and also carry a 8hp kicker on back. A heavier 4s, kicker, batteries and maybe a bait tank will start to add up.........tom

    Trailering a 225

tie downs Hi, some roller trailers don't have an easy spot to connect a transome tie-down. I have used a 3" nylon web rachet style approx mid-ship across the complete hull down to the trailer, then add another smaller one from the bow-eye down vertical to the trailer (in addition to the cable)...

248 vs 258 performance with a single four stroke

While shopping for a used 258 have come across a nice freshwater 248 with a f225. I don't care about the topside redesign changes. But specfically the stepped bottom with a 4stroke single. I know the weight of 4s (especially twins) prompted the change...but what about a single? This boat is in...
