What does everyone do for a living?

Nope. In the navy we're "aviators" and fly or "drive" a helo. Seen the movie "the right stuff"? When astronaut scouters are on the carrier looking for Alan Shepard, they say "they call themselves aviators, they say they're better than pilots."

Freedom 225 Trim Tabs too small?

I think they're fine on my 226, but I only use them to level the boat. I don't put them both down at the same time. Tom is "tabman" both here and on the THT forums.

    Replacing Dome Lights

Well it was daytime but pretty darn bright. White is bright enough for daytime use.

    208 Adventure buying advice

Good luck. All I can offer is that you should broaden your search to the 226/228 too. Only 2 feet bigger, but larger cabin. Used the prices can sometimes be the same.

    Replacing Dome Lights

Well it fits! I had to move the bulb holder to on top of the light fixture to make room. Loosen the fat Phillips screws, turn and pull light assembly down. There's a small screw holding the light socket clip. Remove that and clip. Pull socket out and lay into top of housing. Reinstall dome...

Trim Tab trouble on 265 express not working

I also had my switch go out. Pull the panel and you can touch the wires together to make sure the pump runs and either tab goes up and down. You need to touch three wires together to get the tab to move- orange is power- then you touch either red or green to open the port or starboard valve...

    Why Grady?

I was in the used market and there are way more Grady's to choose from vs other brands here in Virginia. Not too many Pursuit/Edgewater/Hyrda-sports compared to Gradys in this area- and the resale is great.

Read this if you have at least 100 posts:)

There's not enough traffic on this forum to begin with. I have to head over to THT just to keep myself busy. By the way, on THT, Grady's have a pretty rotten reputation (pun intended). I have learned some grady specific stuff like upgrading to SS cupholders and cabin door lid latches. Other...

    Honda EU2000

I bought mine last year from Wise. Fast shipping and a great price. Love the generator, I use it for power outages at the house. I practice "watt management" walking around with an extension cord through the house. Coffee pot- done. Toaster- done. Hair dryer for wife- done. Then I use...

    SS Drink Holder Upgrade

I swapped mine out. They are little loose- had to run a bead of clear silicone RTV under the lip and set them in place. Worked great.

New LED lights in my cockpit...what do you think?

I purchased a pair of 16' all red LED strips. Looks like I can make a run from the helm all the way back to the motor well and the same on the port side. The hard part will be running wires from the port side under the floor to the starboard, then tying into an accessory switch- I want them...

First day out and poop!! '99 OX66 Issues

I would pull the cowlings and look at the fuel filter bowls. On my '01 there's a red ring that is supposed to float if there's water in there. Also change the big fuel filters. When you take the old ones out, dump the contents into a clear container and see what you get. My guess is you have...

    Considering moving up

I went for a 226 without bracket. It's shorter and easier to trailer. I don't think you loose too much space because the live well isn't in the center. My boy likes it. You can leave the cushion off to get some more freeboard. If its rough, he rides up front though.

226/228 hardtop- can someone measure theirs?

Thanks for the advice. Buuuuut..... It won't fit under my storage canopies, it's expensive, I'd need a new custom cover, and it makes trailering harder. I'll wait for the next boat to get a hard top. For now the bimini will work and I can put it away when I want to get some sun. Plus it's...
