If I recall it didn't cost much to have that done, but I had the boat in for something else at the time so it wasn't a hassle to add that to the job. I didn't remove the carpet, I don't spend much time in there :D

Lets get started - more information needed. How many motors and what kind? How old are your batteries? Do you have a meter to test their voltage? Needing to switch to both batteries to start engine could mean a starting battery is getting weak- or maybe it wasn't the correct size when...

On my 2002 hpdi the telltale water goes through the voltage regulator. It needed cleaning too as it can get clogged. That might be an issue.
