sealant for poly tanks - one last time

I have seen a poly tank on a pontoon that had a depression in the top that pools water. I did not see any spots that looked like they leaked but apparently they did. The shop that 'fixed' the leak applies some sort of coating that filled in the depression. I wish I knew what they used.

sealant for poly tanks - one last time

Over tightening the sender screws can distort the flange and cause leaks. This especially true if you use a gasket sealant and overtighten. That can cause the sealant to be squeezed out completely. If you remove the sender screws, you should use a new gasket when reassembling. If the flange on...

    Gas tank lid delamination repair

I am not sure what the correct way to resize photos is but what I do is email them as attachments to myself. When you do that it asks what size you want (resolution actually). Pick the second or third size. The photos in the email will be resized.

    Where is the Ground?

You should isolate what is the ground source. Try the following. Place all battery switches in the OFF position. If anything other than auto bilge and possible stereo memory feed works, you sill have accessory power connected. That could be a bad switch or perhaps a ground accessory wire that is...

    Gas tank lid delamination repair

I assume that since you said there is an 'air' bubble, the area is domed or raised. If so, there is a possibility that the air is a solid mass as would be with a big blister or water intrusion and possible freeze damage if boat is stored in a region that has freezing winters. . Your idea that...

    Gas tank lid delamination repair

That would be my approach; grind out the delaminated area to see how bad the issue is. If the substrate is solid, the tapered out section can be reglassed, faired and gel coated. If you do not have experience with fiberglass repair and you care what the final job looks like, I suggest you have...

Under top cover for Adventure 208

I think the aft drop curtain has a few screw in male snaps to keep the panels from flopping around, especially when the center zippered panel is rolled up. I did find a picture of the helm cover on a 2001 model year. Note that the boat has no hard top but the cover fits both configs

Under top cover for Adventure 208

I am not sure I would take the chance that a new helm cover wouldn't fit but the factory helm cover uses the same snap locations as the factory front, side, and drop curtains. I am trying to remember who made the covers for Grady in 2000.

OX66 what does this linkage to flywheel control

The need to pump the throttle when cold to keep the motor running is most likely related to engine timing. It is a fuel problem that can be related to several things. The choke mechanism comes to mind first. When you pump the throttle you are activating the high speed jet pump and than adds...

OX66 what does this linkage to flywheel control

1995TXRT is not a valid model number. I searched my files and I think I founds what the upper adjustment is but I have never worked on a motor with that adjustment. The upper adjustment that seems to be disconnected ot broken is the timing adjustment. Different models have different spark timing...

Under top cover for Adventure 208

There was a helm cover option for the 208. It does not hang from the hardtop but attaches to the top of the windshield, the sides of the helm and then over the seats an finally snapped to the outside of the helm seat lockers. It is pretty good at diverting rain and keeping the helm dry...

OX66 what does this linkage to flywheel control

The lower linkage is for the precision oil injection pump. That pumps adjusts the oil ratio depending on revs. The oil pump linkage is spring loaded and if the linkage is not adjusted or disconnected. the pump runs at full volume all the time. That will eventually result in carbon fouled plugs...

    Where is the Ground?

How many batteries and did you disconnect them all? There should have be a blach smaller guaage cable connected to one of the battery negative terminals in addition to the fatter black cable. The smaller size wire is the main ground for accessories.

Livewell pump runs but it won't fill

In addition to the check suggested , some livewells have a inlet valve in the livewell that regulates the water flow. It may look like a knob or a odd vent style fitting that can be turned

    Drain Plug Fitting Mounting Screws

I give mine a fairly hard tightening with a crescent wrench, I do apply a few turns of teflon tape. That keeps the plug from binding and make removing easier.
