Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

Agreed, but I believe the number is not the figure needed for classification. The displacement number you calculated changes depending on what is loaded in the vessel. The displacement classification doesn't change. Here is some info from the Yachting and Booting forum. As already put...

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

The weight of the loaded vessel is not the same as displacement. In simple terms, displacement is how much weight can be added to the hull without the boat taking on water and sinking . The displacement may be greater than the loaded weight calculation you mentioned. The displacement figure for...

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

It is unlikely that a 23 foot monohull will have a net displacement of 5 tons or more. The net tonnage is not the weight of the boat but rather similar to displacement. The manufacturer of the boat should know the tonnage. One thing that is not clear is whether a vessel with less than 5 ton net...

Use of a Solar Panel to Keep Batteries Charged

Overkill for the OP's boat. I doubt there is room to mount charge controllers/ battery management system. There is very little space for solar panels. Heck, it's a 20 ft 208:)

    Replacement for Oil Reservoir Brackets

I may have been incorrect about finding the brackets. There seem to be lots of listings but more interesting is this stainless steel bracket on Amazon...

Made a Bow Cover for My 306 Canyon

You may want to add a support pole to stop rain water from pooling. If it pools it can get very heavy and possibly rip the cover or tear it off of its mounts

    Garboard Drain Reseal

As long as the old one is in good shape, it's OK to reuse

    Heavy List underway

I forgot to ask if the boat lists at the dock / when not moving. Also if the list gets worse as speed increases the issue is less likely to be weigh balance and more likely to be excessive drag/steering, of misalignment of the motor

    Bow ladder

Do you climb over the railing or climb under it? The ladder looks very nice.

    Garboard Drain Reseal

Hard to say, usually I would say no but it depends on what screw is there now and what type head your new screws have. 4200 will be fine, as will the perko replacement. It is possible that the old holes won't line up with the new fitting. In that case you may be drilling new pilot holes. Just...

Ditto on the trim tabs. Also check tabs for damage, bends, etc and correct mounting

What do people use to store stuff that can rust?

Honestly, I don't have a magical solution. I try to have as much stainless steel tools as I can but some things in stainless are not easy to come by. A Damp Rid or similar desiccant can make a big difference in an enclosed space that gets damp. Years ago we used some sort of special drawer...

Use of a Solar Panel to Keep Batteries Charged

The OP didn't state how long the boat site in between uses but my experience is that in general, the batteries on that model boat will maintain a decent charge for weeks if not months. Of course that depends on whether there is and current draw for directly connected loads like electronic bilge...

    Garboard Drain Reseal

4200 will work fine. You may need to remove the drain in the future. Yes, it is best to not over tighten the screws untill the adhesive has set up. The time to wait is hard to stat since it depends on the type of sealant and the temperature. If the screw holes are not rotten, just use some...

    Replacement for Oil Reservoir Brackets

The original if you can find them are expensive and made of steel. Eventually it will rust. There was a poster on this forum years back that sold a stainless version. I don't know it that is still available. Some folks removed the bracket and bolted in a battery tray with a strap to hold the oil...

    Heavy List underway

It may not be a list per se but rather a steering to starboard imbalance. Forst question: Does the lower unit sacrificial anode have a fin? It may not if the motor was part of a twin setup. It needs a anode with a tab. If it has a tab, does the tab have a curve in it? If so the tab may need to...

2003 282 Sailfish - New Fuel Vent Cover Suggestions

You need to know how the vent hose was connected to the fitting as well as the size of the hose. A clam shell is not enough. There are flush tank vents available that have to be installed like a thru hull ( which it really is) using a nut on the inside. I don't know what the anchor locker vent...
