    What would you do differently?

When you are in the proximity of anything hard or immovable, go slow and deliberate with the throttles. If possible, practice docking and low speed handling at different engine angles and forward/reverse inputs.

    Length of anchor rope

I have 50' of chain and 300 feet of mega-plait 1/2" line on my 2003 Express based in SoCal. Works great with my original Simpson-Lawrence windlass. I found the mega-plait (12 strand) worked a lot better for me than the 8-plait. The 8-plait had more stretch and would slip too much through my...

    Rope Splicing

Here in SoCal, most West Marine stores do rope to chain splice.

    GW 330 Express Recommendations

Just my 2 cents and personal experience. Yesterday, I took out my '03 Express with 90 hour, fairly new Yamaha 250's 4.2L, for a 150 mile fishing excursion. Boat and engines performed flawlessly. Ran HEAVY - 4 men, 220 gallons of fuel, full water tanks, a lot of fishing gear and two full bait...

I also, by mistake, posted in "Tips and Modifications".

    Yamaha 17-M Props

Pardon me for posting this here, but I feel that this section would get more interest for these. I re-powered and have a pair of SS Saltwater Series counter-rotating 17-M props for sale (15 1/4 - 17 P). I had them on my 330 Express with 225's. There in great shape - no dents, no dings, no...

    Raw water wash down

This is odd - the water systems not that complicated. Unscrew the water exit handles (shower head, sink faucet, etc.) and try running water to make sure the handles aren't clogged. Even though the handle moves, possible the raw water thru-hull is broken.

    Survey for 2003 330 Express

    I never looked into the 4 blades - I really can't answer if they're a better choice.

    Survey for 2003 330 Express

    I have a 2003 330 and recently repowered (90 hours) with 4.2L Yamaha 250's - 15 3/4 - 15 Props. 4500 RPM - 31 MPH - 1.1 MPG. Top speed - 5500 RPM - 37 MPH - 0.7 MPG. This with 2 people, 95 gallons of fuel, full water tank. Not a speed demon by today's standards but meets my needs for...

    Replacing side logo 330 Express

I couldn't find them for my 03 and, as mentioned in prior post, I didn't replace them. I did locate a small 330 Express oval logo on each side of the boat, just above the middle cleat. I'm happy with the look

Refrigerator - AC Only or AC & Battery

When I'm on a mooring, retiring for the night, generator off - I will turn off the refrigerator. The refrigerator is a major power user, but I've had no problems turning off a cold refrigerator for 7-8 hours. I turn it on again when running or on generator.

    Troubleshooting Kohler 5E Gen set

Just because the impeller looks good, doesn't mean it's spinning. Dig deeper and take a look at the condition of the yellow drive sleeve behind the impeller.

    330 with F300 props

I used the same props that were on my 225 Yammies - SWS 15 1/4 x 17P on my new 4.2L 250's. I'm getting comparable mileage/performance with a little more "kick in the rear" on acceleration. The "bite" seems good - no cavitation issues. I'm getting about 5,300 RPM (40mph) at full throttle. I'm...

    clear bottom paint or sealant?

Your rant is excused - you're right! If you want to play - you've got to pay (I know!). Hey - our maintenance/operating costs are peanuts compared to the Viking, Hatteras, Bertram, etc. battlewagons!?!?!
