    Sending unit glue / compound

Personally I’d bite the bullet and get the fuel professionally polished. I bought a 265 that the prior owner hadn’t used the Aux tank in 13 years. Was about 1/2 full ( 130 gal tank). Was about $400.00. USA Fuels did it, I think they are nationwide. To answer your question. I used this stuff and...

    Can't find a source. I'm at a roadblock.

I recently had to contact Marine Glass Specialties for a side vent window with the extrusion piece you are referring to. 2001 265. Apparently George is out with some medical issues and Tex is covering. He got right back to me and took care of what I needed. Since it was the second one I have...

    Fuel sender valve and gasket

I replaced the senders in my 265 last year. Totally destroyed the Rivnuts holding the screws in, had to replace about 5 of them. Be careful with them. Self-inflicted SNAFU, for sure.

    Honda 225 beep

When I was chasing my overheat issue on my BF 225, I took my heat gun and ran it until it alarmed, then I was able to determine which cylinder bank was overheating based on my heat gun readings. Turned out it was a stuck thermostat on one side. While you’re under the hood, check the T-stat...

    Honda 225 beep

Those Honda will go into Guardian mode ( drop RPM’s down to near a idle) with an overheat alarm. Did it drop RPM’s? I had a BF 225 and the guys on the Honda forum over at MarineEngineForum.com were extremely helpful. Learned a lot about that engine over there. Worth a visit

tips for a following sea on 265 express

I was hoping to get a little stern lift with the 4 blades, since most of my crew is back in the cockpit when cruising or on the way out/ back from the hunting grounds. Thought I may be able to pick up a few knots at cruise. But I don’t want to amplify the bow steer issue.

I will add this- take it easy when removing those Sender screws, you can screw things up quickly if you horse ‘em too much.

    Binoculars

Steiner’s have an unbeatable warranty, and they last forever. I have 7x50’s and 8x30’s on the boat. The 8x30’s are a lot lighter , easier on the arms when your using them a lot. The 7x50’s are better on the water, but most won’t notice the difference. They came out with a Police line a few years...

I like InReach as additional layer after EPIRB, PLB, plus it’s nice to be able to communicate with your buddies when your out of VHF range to see how the bite is where they landed.
