Bang Cap Corner Molding 2008 Sailfish

Thanks everyone for your input. I will start with using caulk (Life Seal) and keep an eye on the cracks/patchwork through the season.

Bang Cap Corner Molding 2008 Sailfish

Fish, thanks. I really don't want to remove the corners unless I have replacements corners. I was thinking about using 4200 to seal the cracks,. Do you think that will work, at least to get me through this season?

Bang Cap Corner Molding 2008 Sailfish

The corner moldings on my Sailfish are cracked, both port and starboard. The starboard is worse. Checked with a GW dealer and they said GW does not make parts for boats older than 10 years. Anyone know where I can get replacement corner moldings for the bang cap? Thanks

Lightbulb for Mast Light - 2008 282 Sailfish

Bought an Ancor 9 Watt Wedge bulb at my local marine store. Fits perfectly. At $4.99 for a 2 pack, could be one of my cheapest repairs! Thanks for all the input!

Lightbulb for Mast Light - 2008 282 Sailfish

Skunk, That's funny it is in the Marlin manual, but not the Sailfish. I had scoured the Sailfish manual before posting here. Now I know to look at the manuals for some of the same vintage boats, thanks! I bought two different bulbs today. Will find out which one is correct when I'm at the...

Lightbulb for Mast Light - 2008 282 Sailfish

Skunk, thank you. The mast I have is either 13-123 or 13-125, from your document. So I agree with the 71DP festoon type bulb. Can you tell me where you obtained this diagram? Looks like a great source of info. Thanks again.

Lightbulb for Mast Light - 2008 282 Sailfish

Can anyone tell me the type/mode; number of the lightbulb that goes in the Mast Light on a 2008 282 Sailfish. My light bulb broke into pieces over the winter so I don't have a sample to take to the marine store. I also looked at the owners manual and it does not list the type of bulb. All I...

How to Access Batteries on 2008 282 Sailfish?

Topsul, good idea to build a tray, I like that. My other concern is disconnecting the back terminal. It looks like a bear to reach. Hopefully I can slide the battery forward a bit, then disconnect it.

How to Access Batteries on 2008 282 Sailfish?

I found the access to the batteries. There is a panel behind the aft fold-down bench seat. Open the panels and the batteries sit on a shelf beneath the livewell. Not a lot of clearance or room to work with. Looks like they would have to be removed one after the other, starting with the...

How to Access Batteries on 2008 282 Sailfish?

Fishtales, thanks for the input. That sounds pretty easy. I'll let you know what I find later this week when I climb over the blocks and unsnap the winter cover.

How to Access Batteries on 2008 282 Sailfish?

I understand the batteries on the 282 Sailfish are located behind the fold down seat, and possibly under the stern livewell. What does it take to access these batteries? Do I need to unscrew panels, remove the seat or remove the livewell. I am an hour's drive from the boat so I am trying to...
