    MSRP Discount in today’s economy?

Not sure I agree - new boats will be shipped to FL for quite a while. It’ll take several years for supply chain, interest rates, and labor issues to get back towards normal to help the industry with manufacturing efficiency.

    MSRP Discount in today’s economy?

it’s not just vacationers and not just New England that boats are used 3-4 months of the year… that’s the typical season for much of the country. In New England, the earliest you can go comfortably is probably May and by October you’ll want your boat out - earlier if hurricanes come up the coast...

Close the bow on a Tournament 192?

Great point in focusing on water outflow in the event. Maybe upgrade the bilge pumps while you’re thinking about it.

Close the bow on a Tournament 192?

you can find the boat and get it shipped to you. Even some travel costs you will probably save $ buying elsewhere than CA. Look in the northeast for example. I’ve noticed in recent weeks more and more quality boats being listed for sale, prices are still high though, but I think will come down...

Close the bow on a Tournament 192?

Personally I’d recommend finding the boat designed how you want it, rather than altering an older boat. some bow riders have a canvas cover for the front. Maybe that’s an easier and cheaper option? Or maybe you could fabricate a foldable, removable marine plywood cover, that you could fasten in?

    Winterizing

    1) I agree with trim down - allows all the water to drain out. I agree with using fogging oil in the cylinders. The goal is to coat each cylinder with the fogging oil and prevent issues. Lower unit oil doesn’t have to be done annually necessarily but good to change periodically and look for any...

    Sealing the Deck

If you do find any holes have widened, drill it out bigger, put some tape on the bottom and fill the hole with epoxy, then redrill the hole - countersink the holes so the sealant has a place to go and when you put screws and bolts back in do not tighten down all the way, leave it loose for 24...

    Hit a buoy

this might sound weird, but sometimes I just cut some pieces of cardboard and use that to apply marinetex, epoxy, whatever. Can cut the edge you want and it provides a little flex to grip as you want. Get some plastic ones too and maybe practice a batch first somewhere else less visible on the...

    Overheating

The earmuffs don’t push enough water through the engine is what you’re finding. Maybe the seal isn’t good enough or the rubber isn’t the right size for the intake. Use the bucket and you ought to be ok (assuming the impeller didn’t overheat and burn up too)

Mounting a crab puller to a 209 Fisherman gunnel

I think you want a crab puller with a davit that will go to the deck floor - not mounted on the gunnel. there would be a cylinder stainless sleeve mounted to the floor for the davit to slip into and have just a brace on the gunnel. ill try to find a better picture of what a prior owner did on...

Repower Or Move On 306 GW

Personally I think that boat looks great and would be worth repower. Agree on checking transom and getting done at the same time if needed (maybe fuel tanks if alumn) and it’ll last another 20 years. Good luck with the weather this week.

    Running hot

Your impeller might not be pushing water. When was the last time the lower unit was dropped and a fresh impeller installed? Is it pushing a stream of water through the tell tale?

How to clean this, any ideas?

I’d definitely try what seasick suggested. Go with very high grit sandpaper

How to clean this, any ideas?

Mix vinegar and water in a spray bottle

    Water in bilge.

Perhaps butyl tape would work well for this purpose
