Not everyone needs a 50+ mph boat ;)

    226 vs 228 Ride?

Not to hijack the thread here or anything, any idea what your prop specs are for your current setup? My Yamaha F225 has a 3 blade prop and it works pretty well, though it does take maybe a little bit longer to get on a plane than I'd like. Top speed is right around 42-43 mph in perfect...

    sell my 228

Was wondering about this one... no listings for the boat on Craigslist, Boat Trader, Boats.com, Yacht World and the only posts they have on here is for selling their boat, and doing so with an approximate price range.

I wouldn't not get a 232 Gulfstream or something similar solely because of the additional width and the potential of worrying about trailering concerns, especially if the boat is moored and you aren't going to trailer the boat. Plenty of people around here trailer their 232 Gulfstream's, or...

    2003 282 Sailfish

Have you considered a 232 Gulfstream? They have several of those on Boat Trader right now in that $40k-$50k range.

    2003 282 Sailfish

I guess that means yes that it is the same boat from Boat Trader? Again, I don't think the seller is going to take more than $10k off the asking price because it needs some cosmetic work done to it and when he's already dropped the price down $8,400 before then. How about telling us your...

    2003 282 Sailfish

Is it the one listed on Boat Trader for $41.5k in New York? If so, I don't imagine the seller is going to drop the price down over $10k and sell it, especially if the "issues" are cosmetic only in nature. Of which that would bring me to my question... what are the issues with the boat? If...

    Best family / fishing boat

If you're looking specifically for a walkaround model of Grady White with a cabin, hardtop and so forth then I'd recommend a 232 Gulfstream. It's a big "little boat" at 23' but it has a 9'3" beam and sounds like it'll check off all of the boxes you have listed above for a boat. You could also...

    Marlin 300 / 25'' - 30'' ?????

Per the brochure for 2007, the 300 Marlin shows as a 25" outboard shaft length. Is it possible that the current outboards are mounted up too high and need to be lowered down a hole or two? https://gradywhite-fdcdn-blob-dqabgae8e7g5fygv.a02.azurefd.net/media/21316/2007.pdf

    New member.

Welcome aboard and congrats! I did a cross country roadtrip for my 2004 Grady White 228 Seafarer back in October of 2021. Where I flew from Seattle out to Maryland, put an offer in on the boat, did a sea trial run the next day, sealed the deal, rented a U-Haul truck and then trailered her back...

    226 vs 228 Ride?

I looked for just over a year before finding my 228 Seafarer that I purchased. During the search, as you mentioned there were a ton of 208 Adventure's for sale and I briefly considered looking at and/or maybe purchasing one. I'm glad that I didn't though as the 228 Seafarer is imo about the...

    226 vs 228 Ride?

A few thoughts that I have on the matter would be that I have a 2004 Grady White 228 Seafarer which I bought back in October of 2021, although I've admittedly never owned a 226 Seafarer, nor have I ever even been on one before. The 226 Seafarer was honestly a dealbreaker for me when I was...

2005 Yamaha 250 four stroke water cooling question

If it's working just fine while in the water, not overheating and doesn't have any issues... I'd just run it as it is. As stated before, lots of guys can't get their outboards to pee out of the tell-tale with the hose or ear muffs alone hooked up to it.

2005 Yamaha 250 four stroke water cooling question

If I'm understanding correctly, water comes out of the tell-tales on both engines when in the water and operating normally, but not out of the one motor when it's hooked up to the garden hose?

2005 Yamaha 250 four stroke water cooling question

I'm in the same boat... insert drumroll here... but yes, you likely don't have enough water pressure for the water to come out of the tell-tale with the quick connect and the engine being off, or even when you've got it on and with the ear muffs. Most guys seem to get the flushing bags and then...

    Newbie Question

Definitely doesn't look like a difference of 4"-5" or close to it, looks more like maybe 1"-2" at the very most. I'm guessing it's because you've got both batteries on the starboard side and that's the reason why it lists a bit to the starboard side. If you're ocd and want to "fix" the problem...

Wanted to buy - Seafarer 228

Here’s one in Florida, but it doesn’t appear to come with a trailer, though. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2005-grady-white-seafarer-228-9881469/

    What batteries?

The boat is a 1994 GW 232 Gulfstream, of which it has a maximum horsepower on the hull of 350 hp. The OP stated the boat has twins on it, of which one could deduce that they're likely going to be twin 200's or less. To Germanmattlanta... does the boat currently have batteries in it? If so, what...

    What batteries?

Says in the post which engines the OP has... To the OP, I replaced my batteries back in the late fall/early winter of 2023, of which I called up my local Grady White dealership asking them what they recommend doing, and they said to just replace what I currently have with the same brand new...

    Newbie Question

There’s a hull number stamped on the outside stern of the boat, usually on the starboard side, that will give you the year, make and model. If you enter the number on this site, or others on Google, you can get the year, make and model. Or, the last two numbers of the hull number should be the...
