Grady White 330 Express Bow Thruster - Replacement

Strangely - that's the standard factory installation. I think that weird chunk under the tunnel comes from how they molded the hulls so they could choose to put the thruster in or not later in the process. (i.e. the mold itself has the space for the tunnel and then they either complete it with...

    Mooring lines rubbing on anchor

I've noticed the same thing, and sometimes one of the mooring lines will even get hung up under the point of my Delta anchor. My anchor doesn't have any sharp edges, so I haven't been too worried, but I think the only real answer is chafe protection. Come to think of it I have some chafe guards...

    Autopilot Addtion

I have 100% Garmin electronics and I'm a bit mixed as to whether I'd go Garmin again, but... one super awesome feature of the Garmin autopilot is that I can control it with my Garmin watch! I use it all the time that way, especially when I'm solo.

    33 express generator

For what it's worth, I forgot to close the seacock several times on my 330 with a factory plumbed FP without any problems. But it died of other natural causes after 20 years and I replaced it with an inverter system. LOVE the inverter -- best upgrade I've done.

    Autopilot Addtion

You should be able to get a good system for a boat that size at around $1,500 - $2,000. Installation should be around $1,000 give or take? It's all relatively straight-forward as far as I can tell... Definitely get one of the new generation that doesn't require a rudder position sensor (if they...

Poor Grady-White support for older boats.

I too have had all great experiences with GW getting support for my '03, though to be fair I haven't tried recently. I've found this forum to be an excellent source of info for finding OEM parts and equivalent. I've had 2 different upholstery shops redo various cushions and bolsters and both did...

    Spot light recommendations

I went with a single row LED lightbar mounted on my hard top far enough back so that no light spills on the bow or even the bow rail. Works great, and I only use it when I'm not interfering with other boaters' night vision.

Grady White 330 Express Bow Thruster - Replacement

Great advice. Also I found that Sleipner / Imtra was extremely responsive when I needed to service my thruster. In fact I ended up sending the unit to them for the service. They should be able to help the analysis.

Grady White 330 Express Bow Thruster - Replacement

Very strange. I have the original Side Power that came with my 2003 330, and except for the time I stupidly ingested a line, it's been great. Is it possible you are reversing direction quickly? (I believe some models have a safeguard to prevent this, but I think sudden direction reversals can...

    Repower 330

I should have mentioned that I repowered a 2003 330, but chose to stay with the Yamaha 4.2L F250 instead of the F300. At the time, the price differential was a lot greater, and I also noted that the performance increase for the 330's was pretty minimal. Additionally I have no plan to ever sell...

    Repower 330

My understanding is that there was no change in the hull between 2003 and 2004 when they upped the rating to 600HP. Maybe you can get that confirmed by Grady and make the dealers more comfortable?

    Fuel Smell

For what it's worth a few years back I notices some fuel smell when I pulled my Aux tank deck plate. The cause was a deteriorated sender gasket - replacing the gasket fixed it. I make a habit of checking those periodically now.

    2005 330 Express upgrades

Sweet! I did my rocker switches this season too on my '03. My recent upgrades included replacing my 20 year old generator with Mastervolt 2000W inverter system (love it), a front-facing lightbar and some some very wide angle spreader lights from BlackoakLED, Love the rocket launcher - I might...

    336 canyon panel rocker switches

x2 - I got a new set for my '03 330 and they look amazing. I'd recommend the Etched rocker covers. The tool make them super easy to change.

    Unknown Reservoir

Yes, Imtra recommends changing every other year: https://www.imtra.com/learning-center/articleid/40/bow-thruster-maintenance . Of course for many years, I had no idea I was supposed to do this, and when I did ask my marina to change it we discovered that the gear leg was in pretty bad shape so...

    Outriggers on a 228?

For what it's worth, I find I use my riggers less and less because I've switched to running wide tracker bars (I love the Sterling 18 inch bars) and they run really nicely outside the wake without riggers. I can easily run a 7 rod spread (2 wide and 1 flatline on each side + 1 down the middle).

Wow - that's amazing! Great job finding that. Did you access the glove by removing the fuel gauge sender?

    330 Express Wiper

It is adjustable, but it's also possible your motor has gone bad. Here's the motor I used to replace mine on my 2003 -- it's a pretty easy replacement! https://www.westmarine.com/marinco-heavy-duty-mrv-wiper-motor-80-sweep-281964.html

    Hull value 2004 330 Express

Yeah - $100k may be too high, but when I bought mine 7 years ago I had the option of engines on or off and I think I only knocked $10-15k off the price for no engines. I think the prices of the older hulls with the original 1500+ hour Yamaha 225's reflect the fact that the buyer will have to...
