I have one like that. I wrapped the rail 3 or 4 times with white electrical tape (3m 88) and clamped it. Then trimmed the tape to look nice. Worked well.

One clue to the cause could be the primer balls collapsing at high speed or not expanding right away when pumping. Yamaha had a problem with the lp pumps with clear tabs coming out the top. If it is black, they are the replacements. I would still replace them. another thought, how is the...
