Fish finder/ GPS turns off when starting engine

Voltage drop will kill the electronics for a sec and reset. I’ve replaced a lot of battery switches when electronics or radio will go off when engine is started or trimmed.

Fish finder/ GPS turns off when starting engine

Sounds like a bad ground, loose cable, bad battery cable end, or an internally corroded battery switch.

    Sailfish 27.5

The air would be traveling from the top down (Out of the hole)to release the water from the compartment. Probably Won’t see much. If it is a release vent.

That is a tube to gather water drops, dirt etc. tube could be dried up and won’t seal or cap has a crack in the rubber n tie strap won’t close the crack enough. There is also a fill tube behind the tank that could leak at the fitting. If you clean the tank with brake cleaner, it will dry the...

    No Kill Switch OMC 1994

Do you have a pic of the key switch. Some of them have a horseshoe tab that fits over the key entry to keep it pushed half way in. Horseshoe acts as a kill lanyard.

So true. Not many mechanics even grease this hidden fitting. They just don’t think about it I guess since the grease starvation problem takes so much time to sneak up on you. Lol.

    Live Well Support Arm

I was on my buddy’s 2020 306 canyon yesterday and he had friction hinges on his livewell. No need for a support at all. I am getting them For my livewell hatch to get rid of the spring. They were quite impressive.

"93 Tournament 225 Steering Helm and Cable

    KY Grady!

Sorry to hear that KY. At least you got some boating in before the tnt failure. If you were here longer, I could have had you a new aftermarket motor installed Monday. The trim unit comes out fairly easy without removing the engine so shouldn’t be a big deal getting it replaced quickly. Hope you...

    Trailer work

I also use stainless steel spring mounting bolts. This makes changing the springs easier when the time comes. The bolts are also reusable.

    Trailer work

I usually spray my new springs with instant galvanized before I install them to help them last longer. I also use my fresh water wash down to rinse my springs after I pull my boat out of salt water. It helps. South Florida is rough on trailers.
