Just a FYI, my 27 Sailfish uses a 5800 btu unit that is raw water unit.

Mine loaded with 202 gals fuel, 32 gals. water and trailer = 9400 lbs.

I'm going from memory here...so take it for what it's worth. I believe I ordered 20' for the starboard and 22' for the port. If I can find my old reciept I will verify for you.

I'm going to give mine a good look see next time I'm down on the boat. I'm gonna have somebody look back there when we throttle up and see if any water comes into the motor well from that fitting.

This is what is should like from the other side. I believe there is a drain in the motor well that is plumbed to the trim tab recess.

So, looking to move from my 272 to a Marlin. Can't afford a newer model so looking at anything from 2004 to 2012. Some have gensets others don't. Some had them and then removed but wiring and plumbing remain. As this will be used as a charter boat, I really want an operable genset. How hard...

Just had the exact same thing happen to me. Mine was 94 two stroke but non the less the same parts involved. It's a pretty straight forward fix once you have replacement parts in hand. Youtube is your friend. Several good videos on changing these seals.

Here's how mine are configured. The tubes are just welded to a tube that is bent to follow the line of the hardtop. Three flanges are welded to the tube and are through bolted in the hardtop. See attached pics.
