2005 Yamaha 250 four stroke water cooling question

If it's working just fine while in the water, not overheating and doesn't have any issues... I'd just run it as it is. As stated before, lots of guys can't get their outboards to pee out of the tell-tale with the hose or ear muffs alone hooked up to it.

2005 Yamaha 250 four stroke water cooling question

If I'm understanding correctly, water comes out of the tell-tales on both engines when in the water and operating normally, but not out of the one motor when it's hooked up to the garden hose?

2005 Yamaha 250 four stroke water cooling question

I'm in the same boat... insert drumroll here... but yes, you likely don't have enough water pressure for the water to come out of the tell-tale with the quick connect and the engine being off, or even when you've got it on and with the ear muffs. Most guys seem to get the flushing bags and then...

    Newbie Question

Definitely doesn't look like a difference of 4"-5" or close to it, looks more like maybe 1"-2" at the very most. I'm guessing it's because you've got both batteries on the starboard side and that's the reason why it lists a bit to the starboard side. If you're ocd and want to "fix" the problem...

Wanted to buy - Seafarer 228

Here’s one in Florida, but it doesn’t appear to come with a trailer, though. https://www.boattrader.com/boat/2005-grady-white-seafarer-228-9881469/

    What batteries?

The boat is a 1994 GW 232 Gulfstream, of which it has a maximum horsepower on the hull of 350 hp. The OP stated the boat has twins on it, of which one could deduce that they're likely going to be twin 200's or less. To Germanmattlanta... does the boat currently have batteries in it? If so, what...

    What batteries?

Says in the post which engines the OP has... To the OP, I replaced my batteries back in the late fall/early winter of 2023, of which I called up my local Grady White dealership asking them what they recommend doing, and they said to just replace what I currently have with the same brand new...

    Newbie Question

There’s a hull number stamped on the outside stern of the boat, usually on the starboard side, that will give you the year, make and model. If you enter the number on this site, or others on Google, you can get the year, make and model. Or, the last two numbers of the hull number should be the...

    Newbie Question

Good to hear the bilge pump is actually operable and works as it should be. That was my first suggestion to make sure it is actually working before doing anything else. Second, I’m guessing that you’ve got a 185 Sportsman model? If so, what year? Per the brochure on the Grady White website it...

    Where To Buy Grady Cleats?

My boat doesn't have the above mentioned, though I also don't have a bow pulpit. My boat just has the two cleats that I linked as well as a lift ring cleat that I've linked below. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203376744520

    Where To Buy Grady Cleats?

Here are supposedly the OEM Grady White ones in the first link. The second link looks almost the exact same. Definitely do some measuring first though if you're going to buy non-OEM cleats online and have them shipped to you. Your local GW dealer will also likely have them, or know of a place...

    ? on wiper

You should be able to take the wiper blade into just about any auto parts store and have them find you a replacement. Or you could even pop off the entire wiper arm as well, if you need to do it that way and take it into them.

    ? on wiper

I imagine that when you say the "wiper", you're referring to the rubber windshield wiper blade? As I can't imagine the metal wiper arm is anywhere near 16" long. If you're just referring to the former... as long as the wiper arm isn't bent or has any serious issues, just replace the wiper blade...

Wanted to buy - Seafarer 228

This boat has been for sale for quite sometime... you might consider reaching out to the owner, seeing if it's still for sale and if their price is negotiable at all? I'd also definitely consider increasing your budget at least a couple grand, possibly meet them halfway at $33.5k, as my budget...

Wanted to buy - Seafarer 228

Oh yes, I wasn't insinuating that the seller would pay for the shipping or anything like that. I was just curious if your less than $30k budget was including the cost of shipping as well, or you're fine with as long as you're at less than $30k for the boat/motor/trailer and then don't mind...

Wanted to buy - Seafarer 228

I think you're going to be a bit hard pressed finding what you're looking for at under $30k, especially if you need to have the boat shipped somewhere, as shipping alone can cost $4k-$5k+ depending on where you're shipping it from/to. I bought my 2004 GW 228 Seafarer back in October of 2021 in...

    Pursuit vs Grady vs Worldcat

I’m guessing you’re going to get mostly all Grady White opinions considering it’s a GW forum. That being said, while I was shopping for my 228 Seafarer, I was also considering other boats like a 2320 Parker as well as a Pursuit 2470 Walkaround. They didn’t have many of them available and those...

    Cracked lower unit Yamaha 350

I’m definitely thinking a freezing thing. My parents did the same thing when we were kids by leaving the outboard tilted up, got water inside and noticed the crack the next spring. Lesson learned, always leave your outboard tilted all the way down over the winter.

    Grady white freedom 235

I think that the biggest consideration in terms of pricing will be where you're located at, what all the boat comes with and the condition that it's in. If you're on the east coast or the southeast like Florida, prices are typically quite a bit lower than they are out here on the west...

    Fishy responses to want add?

The thing that usually gives them away to me the quickest is the "Joined date". Most of the time, if someone is saying that they, or their "buddy", have something available and especially if they say to email them... I look at the date they joined the forums here. Typically it's usually always...
