    Wash-down pump trouble-shooting tips...

Unfortunately, the pumps don't really give any warning when they are about to go. When mine failed, it worked on Tues. & was dead on Wed. Touch the leads directly to the battery, if it spins, you've got a wiring/fuse problem.

Best GW, Trailerable, Off Shore, Post SeaV2

I know the 23' Gulfstream has a 9'3" beam but it will take twins, is an all around awesome boat and if you get pulled over for being 9" over the max the cop is having a REALLY slow day.

Four-Bladed Prop?? / Prop Shop in Chesapeake Area

The main thing you'll notice w/ a four bladed is a reduction in bow rise. It will compromise your top end, though. I would not recommend a 4 bladed for an Adventure. 3 bladed stainless-unless you do a lot of towing, tubing, skiing.

228 Seafarer, Bottom paint on Grady Drive?

I would start w/ a metal primer and then use Tri-lux 33 for the anti-fouling. If you use a copper based paint it will eventually pit. [/img]

    engine trouble

same issue a couple years ago. Buzzer went off trolling, idling, when at low RPM's. I am confident it's the poppet valve. Easy, cheap fix.

Fuel/Water Filters ~ When is it time...

Before you go out for a ride, I strongly recommend at least putting the engine in a barrel or giving it a good in-gear test when it is on the trailer at the ramp. By putting the muffs on, you will cool the block but you don't create any back pressure on it. Basically, it will run fine all day...

    Tuna Caught Saturday

We left around 3:30 hoping to get over, hook up and get back before the "bad" weather set in. Wrong. We saw 1 boat hook-up, a Sea Swirl w/ an E-TEC on the back. We cut our losses and bailed. BTW, where are you out of?

    265 Express

The 2 most important variables which effect pitch & roll is beam and deadrise. A dramatic deadrise will roll vs. a flat boat which is stable. Even a few degrees will make a difference. The third, obviously, is weight distribution.

Trim tab size for an overnighter???

I have a 228 w/ 250 SWS II on a bracket and a fresh water wash down-lots of weight aft. I actually switched from the 9x12's to the M-120's with no drops/ changes in performance. They work great w/ almost instant response.

1998 Chase 263 Steering not reponsive

At the helm, there is a little black screw cap. SLOWLY add fluid turning the wheel SLOWLY. You're basically topping off the fluid here.

    Grady or Jupiter/Contender

Everglades makes a CC w/ an enclosed helm but it's offensively expensive. 30' express would be a great compromise b/t the two.
