Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

Thanks, I'll get clarification, likely from the dealer first, who recommended this bank as having experience with boat financing generally and Grady-Whites in particular. Hopefully I'm not the first having to deal with this issue for the Gulfstream, which the dealer says has been his...

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

Here's the Coast Guard form for simplified measurement. I'm doubtful that a 9'3" beam is enough width to be able to qualify using this form. Still wondering if a Gulfstream or other similar boat on the smaller side has managed to qualify. I sent an e-mail to Grady-White to inquire.

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

Thanks. I could get to Victoria, BC in a few hours of cruising.

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

The lender offers a better interest rate for federal documentation. Extra security in identifying title for their lien over state registration. Yes, all recreational.

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

The lender has requested federal (Coast Guard) documentation for a new Gulfstream 232, even though the boat also will be registered in Washington State. The Coast Guard Regs allow for documentation of a recreational boat if it is at least "five net tons," but the calculation is not...

powering a GoPro off the boat battery?

Never tried those square, clear plastic cages, made for diving. I have wondered, though, whether this half dome, held halfway above and halfway below the water, might make for some interesting shots of netting and release. GoPro camera dome

powering a GoPro off the boat battery?

Thanks again to all for the info. I've tried to hold a GoPro underwater, just on a float handle, but the water is not clear enough where I have fished. I'll be retired soon (about a year more of work, but slowing down), so will have more time to try different cameras / mounts on my own boat...

powering a GoPro off the boat battery?

Thanks for the additional info, and the photo of your camera / external battery setup. That's looks like it would be a good solution if turns out wiring isn't easy. It's interesting that you got Anker power bank to work. Maybe GoPro fixed the way the camera "reads" the external power with...

powering a GoPro off the boat battery?

Thanks. I'm looking for wired external power so that I can record all day without changing internal batteries. If I can get it rigged up, I won't have to pay attention to when that camera needs a new battery, or risk missing any action. Another GoPro will stay on my cap, with an external...

powering a GoPro off the boat battery?

Very helpful, thanks. Do you have a YouTube channel for your videos? It took a while for me to find an external power bank that was compatible with my GoPros (10 and 11). With the internal batteries removed, the cameras kept reading incorrectly that there was insufficient power. Finally...

powering a GoPro off the boat battery?

Will be experimenting with recording on a GoPro mounted under the hardtop, facing back to the cockpit. Wondering if anyone has used the boat's battery power for a GoPro, and if so how you rigged it. (I plan to remove the camera's internal battery to minimize overheating.) (I've run a GoPro...

Don't know if you will find answers to all your questions, but you can get archived owner's manuals for your year and model on the Grady White website, at this LINK.

    232 Gulfstream being discontinued

Learned at the Anacortes boat show: Grady White recently confirmed to its dealers that a final decision has been made to discontinue production of the 232 Gulfstream. The model is still shown on the GW website as the Gulfstreams having begun manufacture will still be delivered to dealers in the...

Hey take a look at the boats, including the 232 Gulfstream, run out of this fishing destination at Zeballos, two-thirds up the west coast of Vancouver Island. I'd say that's pretty good encouragement for heading north on a Gulfstream into BC . https://reelobsession.ca/about-us/#fleet...

Thanks for your thoughts. With every decision a trade off, the 232 Gulfstream looks like the boat for me for the PNW. I'll use it a while before deciding on mods. Not interested in having a lot of people on board, and so don't want a Freedom, but do want something the wife and little kids can...

I'm thinking the same for my own fishing. But I'm also wanting to maximize the comfort of the wife and little grandkids, cruising increasingly farther afield on day trips as they grow up over the next decade. I've been on the water in small boats while vacationing during summers in the PNW a...

I had never seen a custom pilothouse on a GW walkaround. It's fantastic! I already e-mailed the Jacobson's rep in Edmonds, WA, and got a reply. He's seen similar in Puget Sound, and a couple of his friends have made windshield mods. He laments that GW does not offer a pilothouse option...

I have experience with a 25' Parker. Fine for inland fishing out of Dana Point. Maximized cockpit space, even with huge live well in the middle of the deck. Even had a a flybridge helm. They quit making the extended cabin, and the current Parker pilothouse is too small for alternative family...

We're thinking alike. The boat won't be all fishing. Instead of extra seating / fishing platform in the bow, I'll appreciate a cabin, for the wife and for grandkids when they visit to have a chance to get out of the weather, and for lockable storage. I think I want the somewhat softer...

Looking through older threads because I'm considering the 232 Gulfstream. Can't afford the Marlin, and was wondering why there wasn't enough demand for a model in between. Also planning to move soon to Seattle area for retirement. The biggest drawback for me is the windshield that doesn't go...
