    First boat

I ordered a 215 last year. Delivered in early August, my hull is #807. Introduced in 2018, Grady has made quite a few 215’s and you should be able to find a nice used one. It’s a very comfortable boat for 6 adults without knocking knees. CG rating is 8 adults. SV2 Hull handles nicely in less...

Quick update on New York Boat Show

Heading to the Charleston boat show Saturday. I have a buddy that we try to go every year that drives down from Columbia. The show is decent size. Takes up all the convention center and about double that outside. Usually a good mix of boats and accessories.

    Grady 225 freedom

I had a 2015/2016 with a hardtop and there was enough headroom for me. I’m 6’3”. Iirc, did have to bend a bit for throttle adjustments.

    Fisher panda generator

Here’s a pic of FP dealers from FP’s website. Looks like there’s only 1 in NJ. Not sure if feasible for you, but when I needed a Panda gen serviced I found who had the service contract for our local Coast Guard station and ended up hiring a tech from them. Glad I did, as it was quite challenging...

Who makes the rocker switch covers?

New Wire is local to me. Had them do an entire dash panel and it turned out awesome. They can laser etch whatever you want on switch covers. Get the plastic tool to get them off the switch body, too.

    New F350 from what I’ve read, but maybe not a V8. Wonder if they’re turbo/supercharging the 4.2l..

    Parts Vu?

Previously had good experience with them until I had to return a basic Yamaha oem part(non-electrical). They issued a rma #, I sent it back at my expense, then said it was non-returnable and shipped it back to me. Certainly an easy CC charge dispute but not worth my time. I’m sure they won’t...

    Engine trim with batteries off?

I installed a Noco Genius 5X2 on my current boat due to great performance on two previous boats. I got 5 years out of a pair of Interstate lead/acid batteries using a Noco charger and only swapped them out when I felt I was on borrowed time.

    Helm Master Ex Joystick install

No personal experience, but from reading elsewhere the model/capability of the ECM at the helm is critical. Not sure if links to other forums are ok to post here… Sent you a pm, I think…

    Battery Charger Circuit Breaker

I’ve had NOCO Genius in my last 3 boats. No issues.

    New Grady owner...

They do, indeed. Sales tax is capped @ $500, which is nice, but to register it you have to pay personal property tax first. To give you an example of their out of whack valuations, they valued the hull alone, without engine, @ $140k for a Freedom 215!!! That doesn’t count the engine, which is...

    Radar for 2023 285 Freedom

I had a Garmin 18HD3 on a Back Cove and was happy with it. Check Garmin’s site of compatibility with your existing chartplotter, although they’re pretty much good with anything above the echomap series.

    GW 235 options

I would order the bow and tonneau covers. My 215 is lift-kept and I have those two. Need to make sure you can get off the boat after fastening the tonneau cover at the stern.

    Removing cupholder

If it does have a drain hole, or enough room to drill a hole through the bottom, you could improvise similar to a gear puller with a 6” bolt, a few washers and a spanner. Spanner could be made of wood with a hole for the bolt. Bolt and big washer underneath, spanner above, tighten nut from up...

    Removing cupholder

Tap it out from underneath after running a razor knife around the top lip. It likely has a drain line under there too.
