2002 Seafarer Trolling Motor install advice

Here is a link to my posts about the 96" Rhodan I installed on my 25 TrophyPro. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/rhodan-on-88-trophy-pro-cool-upgrade-2.37275/#post-262586 I highly recommend the Rhodan, with the single 36 volt LiFePo4 battery. I mounted my battery in the large compartment...

    Fuel Tank Issue

See above, its either a venting/air lock issue, bad fuel selector valves, or clogged gas pick ups/fuel lines. VERY curious to see how the OP makes out.... I had a similar issue a couple years ago, was getting a "code 137" (insufficient fuel) on my new Evinrude G2's which the dealer was...

    Fuel Tank Issue

Yes, your pic shows the fuel valves are set to draw gas only from the aux tank for both motors. So, are you saying that your issue is when you have your motors running from the aux as in your pic, and you turn both those valves to the main tank the motors die and wont restart? If so, to...

    Fuel Tank Issue

"huh?" ..."exactly"...LOL! Skunk is correct. There are two valves that determine which tank the fuel is being drawn FROM to run each motor. Poiny end of the valve handle towards stern is AUX. Pointy end towards bow is MAIN. (on my boat) BOTH towards stern = both motors running off AUX BOTH...

    Fuel Tank Issue

Hmm...sounds like there might still be enough gas up in the fill tube that is blocking the vent. Try removing the fill cap on the main, insert a siphon hose and remove a gallon of gas. (just pour it back into the aux) That may eliminate the vent blockage stopping main tank fuel flow?

    welding hardtop support

I’ve already welded some major cracks years ago, and recently had another minor crack develop on a hardtop support. Ended up buying a couple of these and clamped one down tight on the cracked portside pipe, and put another one on an uncracked stbdside pipe just to make it match visually...

Trolling motor install on 282 Sailfish

I don't think that is a great idea. You will be amazed at how much torque that Rhodan generates....that plus the wave action and currents pushing on the motor head leveraged by the long shaft is going to cause stress cracks and possibly result in the pulpit breaking apart.

Trolling motor install on 282 Sailfish

Now that I have some experience with the 96" Rhodan on my Trophy Pro (same hull as Sailfish), I can tell you NEED AT LEAST the 96". Unless you are only gonna fish bluebird flat days with no swell, the prop is definitely going to cavitate with an 87".

Rhodan on 88 Trophy Pro - Cool Upgrade 2

This LiFePo4 battery is great....is comes with bluetooth and connects to my iphone with an app...I can see the exact state of charge and performance specs of the battery right from the helm as I navigate. see pic: I only use about 10% of the battery capacity per hour at spot-lock in rough...

Rhodan on 88 Trophy Pro - Cool Upgrade 2

Thanks Robert, gotta give props to Ryan at RK Yacht Tender Maintenance at 954-649-5138 who is a local Rhodan distributor here in the Ft. Lauderdale area. He supplied the trolling motor and did the installation right here at my dock. I helped him as needed, did the wiring, and purchased the...

Rhodan on 88 Trophy Pro - Cool Upgrade 2

My measurements probably won’t work on your boat. But Rhodan includes a template for the mounting puck (bracket) which by the way now has a cool integral locking feature on the new models. You will need to get the Aluminum plate separately and custom fabricate it after you dry fit it exactly...

Rhodan on 88 Trophy Pro - Cool Upgrade 2

Recently completed installation of my new Rhodan 96" shaft trolling motor on my classic Grady...the spot lock feature is a game changer! 96" Rhodan on custom fabricated aluminum packing plate. Losiggy 36 volt 100 amp Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) battery mounted in stbd under bunk...

Rhodan, Garmin or Minn Kota? What size Trolling Motor for my Trophy Pro?

Thank you for the much needed feedback. That's a Rhodan right? I'm glad to hear the 84" works for you on your hull, should work on mine too. Based on some measurements I've just taken on my buddy's 87 Trophy Pro, it looks like there is 44" from the top of the gunnel to the water line while...

Rhodan, Garmin or Minn Kota? What size Trolling Motor for my Trophy Pro?

Planning to install a trolling motor upgrade on the Finest Kind this fall...will be used most of the time to spot-lock while jigging over shallow reefs and wrecks for Snapper and Grouper, and deep dropping for Blackbelly Rosefish, Snowy Grouper and Tilefish. Options are: The 87" Minn Kota...

    Refit of 2002 282 - It begins

Note that you may be able to easily adjust the sensitivity. I'm sure other brands must have the same feature...On my digital ETEC's, there is a pair of holes/openings on the forward base of the binnacle with recessed screw heads inside. One is for the shift in and out of gear tension, and one...

Trolling motor install on 282 Sailfish

I was wondering why you decided on a 87" model, as opposed to a 96" (Rhodan).... On that hull (similar to my Trophy Pro), will the 87" be long enough to still bite into the water when trying to hold in rough seas?
