Have to agree. Yamaha aren’t going to support a product without doing their own research. Interesting to see if Yamaha’s performance figures are similar to Sharrow Marine’s. Wondering if prices will drop with Yamaha is doing the manufacturing.

Thay aren't a one size fits all, as the design of the cabin has changed over the years. I would contact Grady and find out what year range of hardtops will fit your boat.

My normal ramp (90% of the time) has a fairly shallow angle so that should be fine. On steeper ramps where the stern floats quite a bit I may have to drop the roller.

Finally found time to install the new bow pulpit on my 228. The pulpit is for a 228 ( made of coosa board these days) but I took it to a fibreglass shop to get a slot cut to take a 232 thru-pulpit bow roller and fill the groove where the 228 bow roller goes. Very happy with the job they did...

New bow pulpit, not mounted on the boat yet. The 2 cracks are from thumb pressure on a section of gelcoat that hadn’t bonded to the fibreglass. Disappointing. QC does seem to be an issue.

Polish with a cutting compound. Or use bronze wool. Won't leave pieces behind to rust like steel wool. I this doesn't work your glass is etched so you need to live with it or replace it.

When they trim bolts to length, run a file over the end to remove the tiny scalpel blades that like to slice fingers as you blindly feel for where to fit the spanner.

It’s not that Grady doesn’t know how the competition does things or how to do things better. Like every boat builder they build to a price point and the added cost and time to make the improvements you mentioned would push them above that “price point”.

If they still made the 228, then a real bait rigging station and not just a bit of cutting board on the live bait tank lid that looks like it was given to the work experience kid to design. Without one it is not a “real“ fishing boat.

I tow mine with a Land Rover Discovery 3. 2.7L V6 Turbo Diesel Full time 4wd. 7000lb towing capacity with no issues. On the highway I'm having to watch I don't go too fast. I think you will be fine.
