I used the discount eraser wheel to remove some stripe on my hull. It was very fast, but left some residue and scuffs that I had to polish out. Ultimately it was no big deal to clean up. Has anyone used the pricey 3M wheel with better results?

The 150-200 hpdi engines were very good. They were a 2.7 liter. Most of the big displacement hpdi engines (over 3 liters) had major issues. I would assume you stow your side panels on the front birth? Or did you find a creative place to stow them out of the way?

That's exactly what I'm considering. The front panels will be semi rigid, with flexible material around the corners.

95% of the time mine will be stowed below, so ease of installation when needed will be a priority. You all have some very nice looking enclosures!

I completely forgot about Hookups post. At the time I wasn't considering that, but will likely go that route for the front.

I like it! I might go with a different material at the corners to make it more flexible. Your windshield to hardtop height is not nearly as large as mine. I have concerns the material could pucker or flex at speed. Have you experienced anything like that?

Is it permanent? Have any photos? How do you slide it around the corner of the upper track?

You can do what I did, but it might take you a bit longer.;) I wouldn't completely deflate the tires. You will likely damage them. I would go with the rollers if possible.

Maybe we need to reconsider the SK ride theory.? They have 2 models. One for pockets, one without.

If that really is a significant factor, go with the SK ride system and you will have a win-win.

It exists. I had one. If I remember correctly, the hand crank was at the same gear ratio as the electric motor. So unless you can turn the crank at 500 rpm+, you weren't getting anywhere any time soon.:(

Unfortunately not enough torque is available from a battery drill. The gearing on the winch would need to be lower. In a perfect world the electric winch would take a battery from a readily available tool platform. Unfortunately no tool manufacturer is in that business.

I'll second this. Had a trailer with a power winch. Total PIA. If only someone made one where a battery drill could attach.
