    282 Anchor Recommendation

Lost my anchor this past weekend. I do not recall the exact size I had, but it seemed small for the boat. What size/type of anchor would you all recommend? This would be general purpose (soft sand to mud to hard bottom). Thanks in advance.

    Twist Latch

This is what I did as well. Easy to make with simple tools.

    Locked brakes

I wish I had the trailer here at the house, but it's down at the coast right now. I don't remember if there was some slop in it.

    Locked brakes

Yeah I had to do that to bleed mine once I replaced the master cylinder and other brake parts. But, figure 6 is when you manually pull it to pump the brakes. But when it is tripped (locked) it doesn't sit that far forward.

It's the same version and the two images in the attachment (images 12 and 13), to me it looks closer to 13, but I could be wrong.

    Locked brakes

Actually that is the exact same style as mine (and the one in the link I sent), when it is up like that, it is locked. It lays back when not locked. I just rebuilt the whole actuator and replaced the master cylinder.

    Purchase of 2004 Sailfish

For reference, last year I bought an 03 Sailfish for $63,000. But, the electronics were crap, the motors are the original 225s. I have put about 7,000 more into it and I am not done yet.

    Locked brakes

This! You can see it is sticking up, you have to insert a flathead screw driver in the opening of the plastic piece to release. See page four. https://www.dexteraxle.com/user_area/content_media/raw/2019-10_059-z01-06.pdf

    Battery terminal covers.

    That is good to know!

    Battery terminal covers.

Yeah I believe it's a coast guard requirement. It was written up on my survey, but I do think if the batteries are in a compartment along, then you are good to go.

    Battery terminal covers.

    I like that.

    Battery terminal covers.

So one of the many things the surveyor listed for me was the battery terminals need to be covered. Unfortunately the ones shown do not cover them properly. Part of the problem is that there are multiple cables/wires going to each terminal. What are you guys using to cover them?

    Is this normal 03 282

Yes the water does freely go from fore to aft. We filled the aft bilge to test the float switch and the water went to the forward bilge. :) I have not had water in that box ever, but it was just interesting to me how Grady designed that.

Good drawing skills :). but it is incorrect. The box goes forward under the floor drains. Look at my picture above, with my finder in the drain, picture taken from in the box.. I have a video of the area if pictures are not good enough. The addition below, (red) shows where the box actually goes...

Ok so from the pictures below you can clearly see the floor drains do drain into that box, then in two of the corners of the box (one fore and one aft) you can see that they are not sealed. So while you could use it for storage, it is not dry storage. What ever I put there will be in a sealed...

Looking at it, it appears a forward corner and an aft corner of the box is tapered and not sealed. That must be how it drains to the bilge below it. I'll put some water in there today and see.

Actually they drain directly into the box, and not the bilge. I'll get more pictures and may video to show.
