If the motor has not had the corrosion repair kit installed, I'm not optimistic about what you're going to find. I hope I'm wrong.

Similar experience to "Fowl Hooked" with my 330 Express, but I went digital and glad I did.

I have a 2003. Used the 225's just as you described - I was very satisfied. I just re-powered to 4.2 L 250's - I'm a little more satisfied.

The back of my control knob is more accessible on my 330 Express. I had the same problem - was a loose water connection. I snugged up the water tube onto the connector and problem solved.

There is a Dynaplate installed on my 330. On page 7-32 of my owners manual it shows the Dynaplate and states "Aft Rigging Area Undergenerator Subfloor" Hope this helps.

For your desired use, I vote for the dome. (....and this comes from an open array owner :cool:). Congratulations on being a "sensible" boat owner!

Same fittings on my 2003 330 Express - I'm sure they are factory installed.

The Kohler is easier - not EASY, but easier :cool:.

I hear you - just being my wise-ass self and, maybe, a bit thankful that I live in SoCal, where tomorrow is often calmer.

I wouldn't want to be in 6-10 foot seas in ANY boat. When you're retired - there is always tomorrow :cool:

Windshield defroster - do a search at Amazon under "Boat Windshield Defroster" - Caframo brand - about $35.

Yamaha does make kits that change the gearing from CR to regular - not sure of cost, but if I remember correctly, not too bad.

Many years ago, I bought a front windshield defroster (held in place with suction cups) that was powered by a cigarette lighter outlet. It may provide just enough heat for you?!?!?
