As I mentioned, that was the asking price, not the actual sale price.

New Boat Questions - The basics

Engine and hull first, electronics can wait a bit. The VHF radio looks more up to date. The Raymarine not so much, I wonder if all those plotter's work. Why would the boat need two or three plotters when it is a small vessel By the way, did you get transferable papers for the boat and trailer...

New Boat Questions - The basics

Is this an inboard or an outdrive? The type of drive dictates the method needed to run water through the motor on land. I am not a fan of lunching the boat to see if the engine starts or the hull leaks and the bilge pump doesn't work. There is a very high chance that the engine won't start...

Marlin 300 Drain Plug (aft bilge)

One of the laws of boating is that if you have one bilge pug, eventually you will misplace it. If however, you have two you will never lose either:)

    '95 268 Islander Value

A 95 sold recently in Virginia. The asking price was 22k. I don't know what it sold for. It had 2 stroke Yamaha. Your weak transom implies a rebuild is in order. That can run 10K or more. The Evinrudes to me are a negative since service and parts can be a challenge. So wat is it worth?? I...

Marlin 300 Drain Plug (aft bilge)

There are expanding rubber plugs with a tightening bolt or lever. You might find one of those locally Are hardware fittings metric in your country. If so, that is probably why you don't see a 1/2 in NPT

Marlin 300 Drain Plug (aft bilge)

looks correct. Usually when the marina or yard removes a bilge plug, they put it where you can find it. The more common place is a cup holder near the helm.

    Snap Unfastener

The tool that the OP posted has a fitting on its bottom for hooking onto the female head of the snap allowing one to pull the snap and canvas taut. One odd thing is that I am led to believe that sunbrella does not stretch...

New Boat Questions - The basics

I like to do as much maintenance as I can but I had a lot of knowledgeable folks to talk to when I started boating, With your limited experience, I strongly suggest you have a mechanic look at the boat and give you an quote to do the winterizing. You may have a great boat or on the other hand...

    Yamaha Command Center CL7

The CL7 has to be configured for your setup I believe. The dealer/installer usually does that . I have no idea what has been previously configured on your replacement unit.

    Snap Unfastener

I have the same tool and it works well for unsnapping but not as well for snapping, My canvas was so tight in some areas that it was just about impossible to close all snaps. What made a huge difference was snap extenders that I use in a couple of spots to make it easier to line up the snaps. I...

    Suspension seat for Adventure 208

Why did you lose drawer space? Does the new pedestal extend into the space below the locker?

    Suspension seat for Adventure 208

There are shock absorbing seat bases available but all the ones I know of have round bases. The 208 originally was equipped with a flat side pedestal ( D shaped ) . Typical round pedestal bases don't fit correctly. I had often thought about cutting off one side of a base but never did it. I...

Mystery 50 hour service warning, Yamaha F200s

Thanks, Sardinia! I found the maintenance table in the MFD and set it to 0 which caused the interval to switch to a double dash line. There is no 50 hour maintenance spec in my OEM Yamaha F200 manual. I will see if the warnings have stopped but probably not until next season:(

how to repair separation of toe kick?

filling in the gap is an option but you may not like the look of the fat curved section. The vinyl shrinks a bit but the extent of your gaps makes me think that the installer of the trim either used a heated piece of trim or pulled the trim too tightly when installing it In both cases the trim...
