    Helm Master Ex Joystick install

No personal experience, but from reading elsewhere the model/capability of the ECM at the helm is critical. Not sure if links to other forums are ok to post here… Sent you a pm, I think…

    Battery Charger Circuit Breaker

I’ve had NOCO Genius in my last 3 boats. No issues.

    New Grady owner...

They do, indeed. Sales tax is capped @ $500, which is nice, but to register it you have to pay personal property tax first. To give you an example of their out of whack valuations, they valued the hull alone, without engine, @ $140k for a Freedom 215!!! That doesn’t count the engine, which is...

    Radar for 2023 285 Freedom

I had a Garmin 18HD3 on a Back Cove and was happy with it. Check Garmin’s site of compatibility with your existing chartplotter, although they’re pretty much good with anything above the echomap series.

    GW 235 options

I would order the bow and tonneau covers. My 215 is lift-kept and I have those two. Need to make sure you can get off the boat after fastening the tonneau cover at the stern.

    Removing cupholder

If it does have a drain hole, or enough room to drill a hole through the bottom, you could improvise similar to a gear puller with a 6” bolt, a few washers and a spanner. Spanner could be made of wood with a hole for the bolt. Bolt and big washer underneath, spanner above, tighten nut from up...

    Removing cupholder

Tap it out from underneath after running a razor knife around the top lip. It likely has a drain line under there too.

    Captains chair for Dual console

I ordered twin helm chairs instead of the normal port side lounge set up. The seats themselves have bolsters. The pedestals have adjustment forward/back and height. The height adjustment comes in handy when there’s a passenger seated in the bow in front of the helm. Edit: the pedestal is made...

Garmin 943xsv on sale at West Marine

I found a 12” ecomap at Bass Pro on sale for my current boat that included a GT54. May want to check their sales. The ClearVu and SideVu features are pretty cool bit the echo series are suited for shallow waters. I think it’s 350 watts which should reach 200’ depth, maybe, but suited my needs. I...

Welcome and thank you for your service! Just south of you in Charleston and looking forward to following your project. Cool boat!

    Covers without factory snaps

As many have said, drill pilot hole then chamfer depth beyond gel coat thickness. As to the cover itself and assuming you’re working with Sunbrella, I use a pencil soldering iron to make the snap hole in the fabric. It sears the threads together similar to the end of a docking line.

    Lighting of Electronic switch panel

i think the switch lights are LED and maybe serviceable, but I’ve just bought new switch bodies. There are a variety of bodies depending on function so have a look as to the type before ordering. When replacing, I take a phone pic of how the switch is wired prior to pulling any wires off. As...

    New Yamaha color ?

Thanks for the pics! That’s a beautiful boat. I’m sure you’re stoked! that sticker on the port gunwale at the transom is the factory QC sticker. It has the initials of the inspectors. It peels off easy. I stuck it on a sheet of paper and kept it.

    205 Freedom instrument panel

I posted in another thread in General Discussion of a dash I remodeled on a Freedom 225. I had New Wire make the new dash panel. The hole I cut in the dash followed the outside edge of the new panel minus roughly 1/2”, so within reason and very important to minimize work extended wiring, cables...

    Grady 205 Biggest GPS?

You may want to consider a new dash panel. This is a dash from a Freedom 225 that I ordered a custom panel from New Wire Marine. All the cut outs were done by them In a carbon fiber substrate. The toggle switches/breakers didn’t need to be rewired once the factory zip ties were cut as there was...

    Missing cup holder drain tubing

You should find small white plastic “grommets“ with a ~1/4” hole in them, usually on a vertical surface adjacent to the cockpit floor underneath cupholders. tI’ve only really seen a need for the drains when I wash the boat. make sure the helm console cupholders are plumbed so they don’t spill...

    Ski Pylon

Uneducated guess…the nut was over tightened when installed and the threads are galled. Stainless is relatively soft. Since it’s already at a machine shop, cut the nut off and rethread the shaft on a lathe. It would end up an inch or two shorter but as long as it clears the motor cowling should...
