    If your buddy has a 27’, you need a 285 or 307.

    New member checking in...

Greetings and welcome! That’s a beautiful part of the country. Idaho was part of my territory when I was based in Phoenix. Most of the industry was down near Boise/Nampa so I’d fly in there and fly out of SeaTac. Usually the last night of the trip would be in Coeur de Alene. I had a customer in...

    F300XSB Trim Display Flashing

Normal for it to blink when the motor raised. Sounds like the trim sender lever is stuck.

    Mold cleaner recommendations for caulking

My local dealer, Seel’s uses “Almond” tinted silicone. Matches the factory color well.

    Mold cleaner recommendations for caulking

I’ve had decent luck with Tilex. Spray, let sit, scrub, repeat.

    Switch panel plate

Fortunately New Wire is local to me. When I was doing the entire dash panel I pictured above all the switch, breaker, trim tabs, chartplotter, etc. cut outs New Wire had templates for. The 4 corner radii were easy to figure out, but the big sweeping radius at the top of the dash was difficult...

    Switch panel plate

Here’s a panel I had New Wire fab. Basically cut out the entire dash panel except for a 1/2” border to screw the new panel to. Rearranged all the devices, switches, etc and new switch covers also from New Wire.

    GW Tournament 225 research

Yamaha debuted electronic shift in 2007 on the V8 F350, I believe. I’m not sure when that migrated down in to the lesser HP models.

Can you reach the area from the anchor locker?

Both battery bay hatches just fwd of transom have a steel rod with ball on both sides - what do they do?

If it makes you feel better, Grady still uses those in brand new boats.

Converting from Hydraulic Steering to Fly By Wire

Check out Dometic’s website. They own SeaStar. Don’t think they allow diy for their electric steering system, if that’s what you’re interested in.

The search for my next boat.

I went to EW’s site and looked that model over. It does have an unusual layout relative to most DC’s, but looks to be functional and spacious. On my 248, and it looks similar on the 262, that when you lower the port and stern benches they form a continuous “L” shaped seating area. Also, when you...

    Non Grady member, guilt?

Two boats ago I had an EdgeWater 248CX. It was an excellent boat. For its size handled seas solidl. No creaks or rattles. Only reason I sold it was it appreciated significantly. Great choice :thumbs up:

    222 Fisherman T top

I used G2 for T-top replacement for a previous boat. Removed the old canvas, sent it to them and they turned it around in a few days. Upgraded to the Sunbrella that has a rubber layer underneath which makes it completely waterproof and stopped the water intrusion into the electronics box. They...

Would it be worth it to move up?

Go for it! Life is too short to wish you’d bought a boat. As to the financial side of things, purchase of deprecating assets covers most luxury items bought to entertain ourselves. I never looked at it that way. I looked at it from the cost of ownership view and can I own and have fun with it...

    Panda Generator troubles

No, just going from experience with adding fire suppression systems to machine tools that use cutting oils for coolant. Our business was supplying machine tools to manufacturers and if they planned to use flammable oil in the machine we would purchase fire suppression systems for the machines...

    Panda Generator troubles

Just guessing, but usually fire suppression systems are purchased from an outside vendor, installed and interfaced to whatever it’s protecting. I don’t know what type it is but if there is a discharge canister it may have the vendors name on it you could use to get more information on...

    Bottom blasted

I like that your guy controlled the dust. I had bottom paint removed off an Edgewater and they used orbital sanders with 150 grit. I didn’t notice it when I picked the boat up, but when I put a removable cushion back in the boat it was plain to see that sanding dust had stained all the...
