    damage under gunwales

I've e-mailed pictures and a description to the dealer. They'll forward to G-W. Have to say I'll be disappointed if G-W thinks that's meeting their build-quality standards.

    damage under gunwales

I didn't see it until I unplugged the electrical power from the downriggers. But I don't know enough to be comfortable that over the years moisture wouldn't make it worse.

Thanks. Helpful info for my communication with the dealer.

    damage under gunwales

After two months of ownership (in removing downriggers from Burnewiin mounts on both sides of a new 2025 Gulfstream), I got down on the deck below the gunwales and, looking up, was troubled to see delamination (moisture damage?) under both gunwales. See pics. I'm not even sure what I'm looking...

question about varying twin engine trim and boat list

Prop walk doesn't seem to happen with counterrotating twins, so I can't understand how the props could lead to a list to port. I tried looking at the bow from in front of the boat when tied to the dock (on the starboard side), and it actually looked like it was listing to port a little. The...

question about varying twin engine trim and boat list

Just to be clear, you're saying with a deep V hull there could be normal a list to port specifically, or rather a list either direction from time to time, based on wind or current?

question about varying twin engine trim and boat list

I may have engines that are not aligned, or when raised together are not rising in the same degree (with starboard higher). The Yamaha CL7 readout shows different levels when they should be the same. I can't see a misalignment looking at the engines, so I suspect it's a calibration problem, but...

question about varying twin engine trim and boat list

So, in theory, if there is an effect (and the other variables eliminated), could trimming the starboard engine up somewhat, and leaving the port engine all the way down/in, cause the boat to list, with the bow lower on the starboard side? And therefore in no event would trimming just the...

question about varying twin engine trim and boat list

If one engine were brought up somewhat and the other left down, would the boat tend to list toward or away from the side of the raised engine? I understand raising both engines when on plane but was wondering about whether raising one engine would be a good/bad idea rather than using trim...

    Bait Cutting Board

Well, I showed my wife, who loves it and wants one . . . for serving cheese and snacks! And if I'm going to cut "smelly" herring I need to lay another cutting board on top! So I put my foot down (and said OK).

    232 Gulfstream being discontinued

GW customer service was helpful and sent me a link to all their prior website photos, which they had archived.

    knee support ?

Thanks, but I think the swivel chairs with footrests and flip-up bolsters are standard for the captain and mate.

    knee support ?

Let's suppose an oldster no longer has the best back and will want to lean against the bolster most of the time underway, relying on knees for shock absorbers. But the knees, while better than the back, aren't what they used to be either. This is more of a sports support type question rather...

    232 Gulfstream being discontinued

Still waiting for delivery in mid-July. I previously saved the spec sheet and options from the GW website, but I waited too long to download images. Went on line this evening to save some images, but the Gulfstream already has been removed from the list of walkaround cabin models. Suppose...

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

The Seafarer is a great boat. I like it much better than the Adventure. I would be very happy in or near Langley. My wife tends to prefer less rural living. (Not quite "Green Acres," but leaning that way.) Our Venn diagram sets intersected on Bainbridge Island, and that's where we're going...

Coast Guard documentation for Gulfstream 232?

The results are in, and directly from Grady-White, the Gulfstream 232 does indeed meet the "five net tons" condition for Coast Guard title documentation. From the manufacturer, the specific dimensions of that model used by the Coast Guard are 23.29' L x 9.06' B x 4.47' D. Per 46 Code of...
