    Lumitec seablaze x2 underwater lights

I just have 2. They light up great though. The problem is they are directly behind the engines, so with the engines are down a lot of the light gets blocked. I bought the boat with lights already installed that way and just updated the lights.

Would it be worth it to move up?

Go for it. Do it while you can and enjoy. Upkeep and Maintenace is not going to be much different than your current boat.

I have them on my express. They were replacement for the original UW lights which only lasted a few seasons. 5 seasons so far and doing well.

    265 express electronics installation

The good thing about the 265 is you have good access to all the pathways to run wires. You just need to unscrew and remove a few panels. You have plenty of room to mount stuff in the helm electronic pod. I had a simrad AP with the pump mounted behind the drawers in the cabin under the...

Chair or bean bag for the bow?

We use bean bags on the bow for lounging. I also had cushions made for the bow which my wife much prefers. The downside of the bean bags is storage as hey take up a lot of space.

    2024 Marlin Trim Tabs

Every marlin I have looked at has had the tabs flush to the transom and the actuator in a recessed pocket. Most of these boats were 2000 models on. Maybe the older ones had them on the transom?

    DIY autopilot recommendations?

I Installed a Garmin smartpump and reactor 40 a few years ago. I did the majority of the install, but had a mechanic friend help with the hydraulic connections as I had never done those before. Pretty straightforward install. It is the best autopilot I have ever owned. Holds well in all...

    Sandbar Anchor - Suggestions

The only problem with the stick or spike anchor is that you have to be out of the boat to deploy it rather then just tossing an anchor. If you are in an inland lake or very protected area this may be no big deal. Where we typically take the boat to the beach there is wind, current and tide...

    Questions about Deck Drains

On a 25 year old saltwater boat I would just replace the through hulls while you are in there replacing everything else. In this case I think It will be much easier to break things to get them apart then trying to futz around with old parts to try and save them to re-use.

    Dock box inside slip

In our marina there is plastic triangular piece between the main dock and the finger just like you drew in your picture. That is where some people put dock boxes. So if your marina allows it that would be the place for it. Our docks are floating, but not sure it really matters. The dock...

    Sandbar Anchor - Suggestions

The setup that I have used for the same anchoring situation is a claw anchor with about 10ft of chain and 3/8 inch anchor line. It fits in a small bucket and I only bring it on the boat when I'm going to use it. The chain is way overkill for this anchoring situation. However I have found...

How much 1/2" anchor line fits in the Grady-White marlin 300 anchor box?

With that much line, you will have to stow it on deck in a laundry basket, Rubbermaid bin or garbage can. Take it with you when you need it, otherwise leave it off the boat as it will take up too much space. Most boats are not going to have the capacity to stow that much line in the anchor...
