HDPE and PVC board are both widely used for this purpose - hence the reason I mentioned it :) The only structural area of concern is the middle area between the seats. But the ideas I mentioned above will solve that (and have solved it). And I'm sure there are other good ideas.

And... there are nicer faucets to replace that. I had a similar setup on my Sundancer and went a high arc faucet. It was much nicer to use.

100% agree with that! One little "mostly" broken wire inside a connector that you can't see makes for a big headache. Mostly broken is worse than fully broken!
