The rebuild your transom club...Noticed the transom cap moving back and forth about and inch last Wednesday while coming in on the ICW. Upon further inspection, it appears the transom is rotten. Just had the boat repowered in May and the service manager at Marshall's Marine in Georgetown, SC...

So getting around to repowering the Grady with some Mercury 225 Fourstrokes and was wondering what to do with the oil tank filler located on the stern? Any ideas???

Just purchased a pair of Mercury 225's Fourstrokes for my '94 27 sailfish. Pretty much the same hull as yours. They are not installed yet but per Grady White, they are the only 4 strokes on the market that wouldnt sink the scuppers. I'm replacing the original 200 yamaha two strokes.

Just a FYI, my 27 Sailfish uses a 5800 btu unit that is raw water unit.

Mine loaded with 202 gals fuel, 32 gals. water and trailer = 9400 lbs.

I'm going from memory here...so take it for what it's worth. I believe I ordered 20' for the starboard and 22' for the port. If I can find my old reciept I will verify for you.

Does your 96 have the stepped up hull at the transom as the 94 does? If so, you will want to check with Grady to see what weight that boat hold on the stern. Just a FYI...They told me I could not put the Yamaha F200's on the back of mine due to too much weight on the stern. Right now my only...

I have the same boat in the '94 model with basically the same engines. Fully loaded with 202 gals of fuel, 32 gals of fresh water, ice, bait, beer and up to eight people and you can count on 1.0 mile per gallon. A few less people and you might creep up to 1.3 mpg. As for the engines, thought...
