I have a feeling my head vent line may have a clog. Bit of a smell even in the cold and with the tank empty for the winter. Is there a filter on the vent line that could have gotten soiled? Boat is a 2005 Marlin. Vent on the hull has a screen that I haven't taken off yet.

I found a couple in my search as well. I’d be willing to bet Grady might share some repair cost if people escalated it. They treated me right with cabin headliner cracks. As far as I know the no wood in recent years is only transom and stringers though.

I don't know about the new boat price, but I'd say the price on your trade is pretty good. I sold a 2007 208 this spring with F200 and hard top for $31,000. Trade in value is always lower. I'd say they're at least not lowballing your trade.

Why do they need replacing? Perhaps a rebuild if they're not shot?

Well I figured out my problem, I think. The guy I bought it from was tall and had the seat raised all the way up. There was some play in the system at full extension. As I'm fairly short, I lowered it all the way down, tightened up everything, and it's now solid with no wobbles. So that's good.

Looks great. Any issues getting the old one off? I assume there's nuts on the screws or a backing plate? Fixed seems the way to go as adjustable will become loose over time it seems.

Do you have a link or part number for the internal Delrin bushing? That may be my problem.

I have the same pedestal and post on my 2005 Marlin, different base. There seems to be some play where the post meets the pedestal. Normal, or is there a bushing that should be in there?

New model, the Freedom 325. 31'2" with a 10'9" beam. Does this mean the end of the Marlin? I think it's a different situation than the Gulfstream/Freedom 235 as the 235 is 8'6" beam. The walk around models have gotten pretty slim as of late.
