Groco pump -simple macerator retrofit- 265 Express

I hope to never use the head. I suppose in an emergency I would. It’s more for my wife and daughter. This was the main ask in their contribution to the boat choice. I HAVE to make it work

Groco pump -simple macerator retrofit- 265 Express

I was able to replace all of the hoses at the vent loops by cutting the access panel under the starboard storage area larger towards the hull sides. It was not easy but it can be done. I am pretty bruised up. Now, if the vent loops are defective I have no idea because they have several screws...

Groco pump -simple macerator retrofit- 265 Express

Another thought is, does the Y need to be screwed down? Can it just float between the three super sturdy hoses? OR would this put stress on the plastic fittings?

Groco pump -simple macerator retrofit- 265 Express

Max or anyone who might have ideas, In the diagram that Max posted, how do you get the 1.5” hose from the existing pump out 90 onto the Y valve? In the picture it is the perfect spot to put the Y however bending the hose for that angle in such a short piece is impossible. It’s probably a 3”...

    265 battery shelf

I replaced like for like. It has the wire in it so I guess the same problem will happen again in 20 years. I got it off of Amazon. Its the same hose that I replaced all of the sanitary lines with. 1.5" ID

    Sealing Deck Hatches

My head is sitting in my garage right now! The new pump handle assembly will be here Thursday. I think it was $108 on Amazon. I am in the process of doing what Max did here. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/groco-pump-simple-macerator-retrofit-265-express.19049/ The hoses were all pretty...

    265 battery shelf

No, cutting in the shelf only gave access to scupper side. You still need to remove the hatch so that you can get to the deck drain side. For me the starboard side was harder and took 4 hours. The port side I got done in only 3 hours. I have no interest in doing this again to get to 2 hours...

    Sealing Deck Hatches

bringging back an old thread. The search function is quite helpful! I have been replacing hoses all over my 265. it has been a pain in the butt. the scuppers were completed and a couple more for the sanitary System (including the external macerator and Y valve add from this site) to be done...

    265 battery shelf

Just finished the starboard side on this 60 degree February day. We never get that!!! Here is a pic of the shelf in case someone needs to replace their scupper hoses on a 265.

    265 battery shelf

I failed to take a pic of the new shelf in place before putting the batteries back. This sucks because that’s the part that will help the next guy in the future. I’ll definitely snap the pic on the starboard side.

    265 battery shelf

I was able to complete the port side yesterday. Removed the batteries, cut the existing shelf, replaced the two hoses from the deck drains to the scuppers, replaced the shelf with a new one made out of PVC board and replaced the batterie. Pretty straight forward. The only change that I would...

    265 battery shelf

I’ll warn you that this is going to be a weird one. My scupper hoses are completely dry rotted On my 265. It appears that the only way to attach to the scupper end is to remove the batteries and the shelf. I am just now ordering parts, doing all of the sanitation hoses too, and trying to...

    Hatteras Inlet

Here are my thoughts. That inlet is really challenging. It could be miles if you follow the markers. I think that the charter captains make their own markers out of milk jugs, bleach bottles, etc and move them as needed. It's tuff in the dark. I trailered my old boat, 31Fountain, to...

    WTB Bennett trim tab switch

I apologize if I was unclear. I don't know the technical terms. The port side of the switch has some resistance to it when you push the tab up or down. The starboard side of the switch has zero resistance. You could move it with a piece of paper. I ordered the switch on ebay and it should...

    2002 Grady White Express 265

I just picked up a 2003 265 with 2005 yams 225’s. I had the survey completed and the issues I was willing to deal with. Great hull and motors. Lots of project.

    WTB Bennett trim tab switch

Thank you so much! For some reason this did not come up for me in my search. I just purchased it. The mechanical portion of the switch is broken. Meanin, you can push it up or down but it does not stay. I just purchased the boat but am just getting around to settling priorities. Thanks again!
