    seat cushion maintenance

I have been using Lexol leather products on my saddles and bridles for years. Good Stuff. I would imagine their Vinlex for vinyl and plastic would be good. 303 Aerospace Protectorant is as good as any also.

    repower time

I assume you are speaking of Australian dollars. Yamaha quotes US$20,600 as their suggested retail for the F200 4 cylinder. Discounted maybe to 18K plus rigging.

    First Grady, Winterizing question

I would say you should stick with the 100 hour service schedule for your Yamaha. You don't need new thermos or an impeller . Fill up the tank with non-ethanol and throw in some Stabil Marine and the engine should be fine. Make sure there is no water in your on-board lines that can expand when...

    208 adventure-looking into repower options.

Keep in mind that your Grady is not a Yellow Fin or a Pursuit. It is not designed for high speeds. It is designed for stability in rough water and longevity. A 30 MPH or so cruise speed is exactly what it is designed for.

    208 adventure-looking into repower options.

Your present engine weighs in at about 390 lbs. Any new 4 stroke is going to be significantly heavier and your boat was not designed for that . They changed the set up for the 208 with four strokes around 2002. So, a new Yamaha 4 cylinder F200 weighs about 100 lbs more. Same with Merc 200...

    Acceleration problem

Cam position sensors are a buga-boo in so many engines, marine or otherwise. I had the same issue in my Yamaha F200 and my Ford F350 Power Stroke diesel tow vehicle at he exact same time. Yam was on warranty, Ford was a recall...no expense but lots of head aches.

    Opinion

I'm no expert but does it have brakes? You will need brakes for your size boat.

    Does Salt Away product work?

Salt Away has acid in it and vinegar is also an acid and over time could do some damage to metal parts, one would think.

    Looking to purchase a Grady

To dispel any fear, I have traveled all over Central America. There are many F250s on fishing boats down there. Some look like they did two tours in Afghanistan. These boats go out everyday, taking tourists fishing or diving or whatever. Maintenance seems little or non existent. They just...
