    Ethanol 95 Phase Separation

I know nothing about gasoline in Thailand but I did have one hell of a great time in Phuket on R&R back in the day.

    Yamaha gauges

Try cleaning out the pitot tube holes on the forward facing part of the lower units of your engines. It is a small hole and the best thing to use is a small drill bit which you hold in your fingers and twirl it to remove dirt, gunk, sand, etc.

Putting Up the Canvas without getting a heart attack

My red-headed Irish mother taught me this trick many years ago with regards to zippers. Take a sheet of old fashioned wax paper and with the waxed side against the zipper, run it up and down the zipper several times.

    208 Adventure - Pulpit Question

I would assume that the bow pulpit can be removed...it is bolted on but the bow rail is different on the ones without it so you would have to replace all or part of the rail. I have no idea if you can use a power windlass without the bow pulpit...never seen it done. My marina owner charges me...

Us 208 owners love our boats and you will too until 2-foot-itis sets in. If all checks out, sounds like a good deal.

1st cruise on new Freedom 225

On a windy day, in the chop, with all your canvas up, that F200 is going to work pretty hard. You will find that the trim tabs are just fine and the F200 will give you plenty of power when the weather gets better.

First Splash of My New Freedom 225

Congrats on your new Freedom. I have those slick bunkers on my trailer (as opposed to the carpeted ones) and I have had no problem with launching. I use a spray made specifically for them but you could probably use Pam or something similar. I only have to spray two or three times a year.

First use of E10 fuel in a 1994 Sailfish

Can you get non ethanol gas in your state? It is readily available here in SC. A few weeks ago, I saw the local Porsche club loading up on non ethanol fuel at a station near me in coastal SC. Must have been 15 to 20 of them. E10 is a big no-no in classic cars too. Non ethaol fuel here at...

    Got Spring Fever...bad

Scott, NC is a big state and the mountains of the western part of the state get lots of cold weather and snow. I too have always been entertained at our local boat ramp. Better then the comedy channel at times. This year saw a guy bring in a nice Yellowfin with trip Mercs. Didn't tilt up...

Grady White Tournament - Purchase Insight Needed

The 192 got the Sea2V hull in 1994. And it does make a big difference.

    First Grady

I am curious about why there is no stainless prop on you engine. I was under the impression that the F200 cam with one. At any rate, you have the right boat and live where you can enjoy it 10 months a year. Congratulations. I believe you can download a Furuno owner's manual for your unit...

    Boating from Norfolk to Annaplis

I don't want to be a wet blanket here but that 140 mile run in a 208/150HP with 4 people and gear is going to take over seven hours at least. You will be hard pressed to run 25 to 30 MPH with that set up unless you are running full throttle all the way. Just saying as a 208/200HP owner who has...

    New Man On The Block

As a 208 Adventure owner, I agree with lucky 13 and suggest a 23' Gulfstream. 5 people on a 208 is doable but not very comfortable. A Gulfstream with a hardtop will keep you in the shade and you can also add a bimini or sun shade to the stern of the boat. With 5 folks aboard, you will most...

    How underpowered ...

Well, the 1984 GW catalog shows the 190 Tournament with a 115 HP Evinrude so you should be OK. The new 115 Tohatsu should preform better due to modern technology . I have never owned a Tohatsu but from what I have heard, they are pretty bullet proof. Do you have a transom mount or the sea...

Best way to sell my Grady

You can use boattrader, com,THT, list it on this site or use ebay or craig's list. I suggest taking plenty of photos and include any documentation of maintenance or repairs. This time of year is not optimum time to sell a boat but there are those looking for a late season deal. Brokers will...
