    Hull stripe

The stripe on mine was all buggered up when I bought it five years ago. I peeled the first side in the morning while the sun was hitting it just with my fingernails. The other side in the afternoon when the sun moved over. I spend a lot of time buffing to get the unweathered gel coat that was...

Garmin GPsMap 943xsv &their Captain app real world feedback

I have 2 943's on my 180. Some may say it's overkill, but when looking for small spots on the bottom of Long Island Sound having both is a real help. They were the best bang for buck units I thought. They are network together with the simple network cable. I have one in hall transducer and...

    Bottom blasted

I used two coats of Petit Protect primer, and then two coach of Hydrocoat. Hydrocoat is a lot easier to work with year to year.

    Fisherman 180 - Speakers

There's only so much stuff I can fit on my 180:D. I have a small rechargeable Bluetooth speaker, I hang from the crossbar of the T-top and stream my iPhone to it.

Trim Tabs for a boat that never had them

I put 9x12 Lectro Tabs in my 180 four years ago and wouldn't be without them. Ending my 4th year no problems, easy to install and operate. While hydraulics may be more dependable, Lectrotab has a lifetime warranty on their pistons so if one goes bad, I'll just change it. You'll have to drill two...

    New steering wheel

Here's my Sportsman's wheel, I think it's a Schmidt. I bought this knob, drilled the wheel and mounted. Since I have cable steering the smoothness of the knob is a moot point, it's plenty smooth enough for the cable system.

    Dash modernization

This is what I did on my 180 which probably has a smaller console than yours. I moved the compass to an in dash model and was able to mount two 9 inch Garmins up top. I hung the VHF from the top of the glove box.

Looking for a countersunk and bent washer

I'm curious, did you remove your seat from the deck? I've been trying to find out information about doing that so I could turn the seat around. That way I could slide a cooler under it from the rear. Right now they have that bar across the top in the back, I'd like to switch it to the front. But...

    New steering wheel

I just added a knob to my basic wheel, works fine for me. But if you need the inserts, I guess that's the only way to go.

    Trim tabs

I have a 180 Sportsman. I read before I put it in the water, that I would probably need trim tabs. I put on Lectrotabs, and I can't imagine running without them.

    Raw water pumps

I installed a Shurflo last year, still going strong. 2 year warranty.

    1989 Tournament 19 Foam Removal

FWIW, I have a 180 that I wanted to install a shoot thru hull transducer in so I put a hatch in the deck in front of the motor well. I think they use closed cell foam since there's always some water in the bilge but the foam doesn't absorb it. Also, if I stand alone in front of my motor, water...

Do a search on here for "bang cap" "bang plate" and "transom repair". You'll see lots of pics of what to look for.

    Repowering a 2003 208 adventure

Re-powering is the time to do it, when the engine is off. My boat is a 2004 180, the bang cap only covered the back edge of the transom. I had it removed, the seam between hull and liner cleaned out and glassed over and then the new plastic bang cap installed. I was lucky, no water intrusion to...
