Thinking about removing the Manual SureShade

I think you'll find more people interested in it than you think - especially at your VERY generous offer for free. This is something that can be fitted to many different boats as it's really just a "width" variable... although even that can be accommodated for, to an extent.

    Bow Rail Segmented?

I can't say for sure on your boat... but it's not uncommon to have the entire bow rail as one piece. As Seasick eluded to, though, it kind of depends on what's going on right at the bow. However... it will NOT be segmented at every single t-fitting.

    Additional Electrical Circuit

Do you "need" to upgrade the wiring... hard to say. But there's certainly worse things you can do than to upgrade 30+ year old wiring :) Unless you're increasing the amp draw on the main dash power lead, there's no reason to upsize it (although it can never hurt to do that). Chances are, all...

306 canyon - do engines touch water when raised?

I guess as long as your bilge stays bone dry? Meaning, it's not uncommon for bilges to get rainwater in them due to bad seals/whatever... and then we know that the forward bilge on GW's is lower than the aft bilge... which means the forward bilge will start filling up more than normal and then...

306 canyon - do engines touch water when raised?

Oh, I see what you're saying, now. For some reason, I misread your first post as only talking about the XXL on the transom and then the XXL on the 5" higher transom. But, still an awful big moot point, you know? I mean, no one in their right mind is going to go that extreme expense (and would...

    High pressure flushing

That was likely just to due to old hoses and/or worn/loose clamps, though.

    Battery replacement on Sailfish 282

Whether you go LA or AGM is your call once you factor in pros/cons/price. But I agree with Chris - if you're generally happy with how things work, then keep it simple and just replace without messing with wiring. Unless you're going to hire someone, the last thing you want to do is start...

    Proper steps for compression test

You're good - just open the throttle all the way (not in gear, of course). If you've recently run the engine on the hose, you are OK to do the compression without running the hose water. Otherwise, either run the engine on the hose or just hook up the hose to the flush fitting for 30 seconds...

    Ramp and Clamp

Used that particular brand? No, but steps are nothing new - pontoons have had them for many years. If it feels secure to you, go for it. Probably don't need to wait till you're in the water to test it... :) Hard to tell from the picture, but how's the last step to the boat? It doesn't look...

    Battery replacement on Sailfish 282

No, there's really no reason to have 2 batteries starting the port engine (if that's all it's doing). But, as noted above, the first thing to do is to go and figure out where all the wiring is going. Make a diagram, maybe? Once you have that, answers will become easier.

306 canyon - do engines touch water when raised?

It's a bit of both. It's whether the engine/engine hood size/design is such to allow more clearance when tilted up AND whether the boat manufacturer designs enough clearance at the stern.

Bahamas on mid 90's two strokes?

There's actually a reasonable argument to be made that 2-strokes are more reliable than 4-strokes.

    Gulfstream 232 trailer suggestions

They (Venture) didn't all have issues - but it was so disproportionate to our other brands that it just wasn't worth it to keep them. They're the only brand we ever came up with a slogan for :)

306 canyon - do engines touch water when raised?

I agree - the floors are typically barely bow high in most boats. Adding enough weight in the bow to make a big enough difference at the stern is not a good idea. I think this is one of those "it sounds good in theory... at first"... but could easily end in disaster. Especially when a little...

306 canyon - do engines touch water when raised?

That's some interesting math you have going on there :p But... have you actually done this type of work before? That's a rather big/expensive job for a small (although largely annoying) problem.

    Multiple Engine Flush Process

A standard hose splitter (or two) from HD or Lowe's should do the trick along with some hose repair kits and cutting some old hose to make a rig. That's a very simple/easy solution - does that not work for your setup for some reason? One downside... especially if your flow rate isn't too...

    Gulfstream 232 trailer suggestions

Keep it simple - go with a brand that can be warranty serviced easily - which means... buy local. I also would not get Venture. At my shop, we used to carry Venture but kept running into issue after issue after issue. We stopped selling them. It got so bad, we actually came up with a...

Length of Pulpit ona 22 seafarer

Something to keep in mind... it only needs to be long enough to keep the anchor tip from contacting the bow. In many cases, a decent anchor roller can do the same thing - or at least almost. Meaning - you won't need something really long. Depending on your trailer and ramp steepness - the...

Grady White Marlin 28 1994 balsa hull

A spec drawing like above generally won't give specific part numbers - just the types of materials being used. Without going the Google/AI route, I do not know the coding question. I would only guess that it's related to it's physical size (like thickness) or something like that. Yes, you can...

Auxiliary Berth Cushions --- Need your Help

Is there a lip around the "hole"? Then "yes" to the center piece(s) (your call) having a plywood (or composite like pvc board if you want) bottom. Or, are there notches for support boards? I did a 10 second search on the net and it returned a whole bunch of interior pics - maybe try changing...
