Looks like Bill Boy hasn't been back since posting that about a month ago to answer questions and discuss things.

2001 Grady 265 scupper reposition height

Have you had the boat since new? That's really, really odd, you know? But stainless CAN rust overtime - especially when left in very wet environments. Stainless only "stains less" than other metals.

Grady White 336 Canyon with Seakeeper 3 - Bottom Paint Line

I would think you could get a diagram from Grady. I know some manufacturers can provide this, anyways. If you end up not 100% sure... You can always come back and add more!

    Bow rail hinge question

While I have used that specific fitting, I've done plenty of rail fittings using the set screws and it's basically the same thing. It's not uncommon for OEM to build bow rails that way, either.

2001 Grady 265 scupper reposition height

How far below the cockpit floor are they currently? The absolute closest you could go to the floor BOTTOM is determined by the scupper hose, fitting, and access. The hose is roughly 2" OD. So that's your bare minimum - although that would be really tight. Better to go a little further and...

    Battery replacement

Depends on how you're using the battery. If it's used with not too much "engine off" time, then all you really need is a good marine cranking battery. Deka's are reliably one of the best out there. Their group 24 M7 would be perfect - we've been using those at the shop for all of our...

    24 offshore cabin cushion replacement

Did the same thing on mine. I went to vinyl as it's easy to keep clean, as opposed to a cloth. I increased the thickness of the foam to 4" and went with a medium density foam. My hips don't "bottom out" on the foam - but it's not too firm, either.

General question on buying a Grady, i am looking on Long Island NY

Chances are "higher" that an older GW (or almost all boats) will have water somewhere. But that's not to say that ALL older boats have issues. In the end, it all depends on how it was maintained.

    2009 Chesapeake

OK, that makes much more sense! :) (Edited for better clarification) So... some of the boats are built without "limber holes" (Google it if you need to). Which means, yes, water will always collect there -- if it somehow finds it's way there - although generally those areas that are lateral...

What is "framing"? It'd probably be best if you upload a few pictures.

2006 23 Gulfstream Jabsco Head / Holding Tank Hose Replacement

A porta-potti is nice becasue it is so simple to use/take care of and it's pretty much dirty simple. Not a bad idea you have there. Hose replacement is pertty much the same on all boats - a royal PIA. They usually "just barely" fit through the drilled holed but since they sometiems...

Stereo Questions for 2019 Freedom 285

If all of the speaker wires don't go the head unit, which is likely, then they go to your amp. Find your amp and check wires... then ID which wires go to which speakers. You can switch them around to test speakers, too.

    Head

Fair enough! So, with your anticipated use, and assuming you DON'T have a separate holding tank... I'd probably cap off the ports on the back of the potti, plug the lines and just use it as a regular portapotti. This would make the system dirt simple. The potti has two securing rings screwed...

    Head

That helps - mostly :) So you have what I was "guessing" above. But what we still don't know is if you have a separate holding tank or the only holding tank is thelower half of the potti. Right there in your picture is the directions for the Y-valve I mentioned. It's probably inside either...

That's a whole bunch better and right in line with normal! Good deal! Thanks for the follow up, Loggie.

That's some nice bling hangin' off the back of the boat!

    Wrong Way Corrigan

First check to see if you have your Garmin set to read "magnetic" as opposed to "true north". Second... do you have any speakers/etc (sources of magnetic disturbance) close to the compass? With the boat in your slip, does turning the wheel affect the compass? Does using/turning on any nearby...

    24 Offshore Winch Hook Loose

So, if you don't use the top cleat to lift the boat - which is fine since you always use the bow eye - you could do without this piece. Reinforce the top deck sufficiently and reuse the (or partial) threaded rod. The bow keel doesn't really need any reinforcing but you can add some goop, a...
