This is not a new issue or one that is specific to 235's. Pretty much all Grady's have a forward bilge that is slightly lower than the main bilge. As you are running the boat, it's probably in the main bilge due to the angle of the boat... and then when you come back to level, it comes forward...

Do you "need" the extension? From the picture, it doesn't look like you really need it. It seems like that's just a thing that is waiting to break off.
