Yea, the folks on TheHullTruth are wild about it and are all Mercury guys...haha...I have a 2002 273 Chase and had those motors. No issues in this regard and I threw a rod in 2018 with 1900 hours...only issue I had was 1 wiring harness. Interesting for sure. r

This is always interesting..I had a 2002 and it lasted 18 years and 1800 hours with no corrosion issues...threw a rod so I replaced them.....I always flush with engine up as the manual states...never used saltx, which I do now..

I did purchase a rebuilt unit a couple of years ago...good investment...had new tilt mechanism as well.

I am not on the same page with retractable...no way they will hold up over time and too much of a hassle to deal with halyards when they are not retracted...if you run offshore with them not out it is a pain to set them...I just turn mine and start fishing..I am a big rupp fan...the stuff...

Hi, I went with Powertech and 3 blade. However with the zukes I went from 19 to 23 pitch props as the zukes are geared much differently...I think on hulltruth they reference propgod so you may want to reach out.. r

Love my 250s ...I switched from F225s and went from a 19 to 23 pitch prop....zero issues...make sure they mount on the right hole..the gearing on these motors are ideal for Gradys in general.

First trip of season ..needed to shakedown the new electronics and that went very well...fishing was really quirky..never caught 20 barracuda but were able to scratch out a few nice fish....

The low end gearing and torque on the zukes is really beneficial for that hull...I have twin df250s and have not looked back

Installed mine this past weekend. It replaced a TR1 I had for 15 years...on my 273 Chase there is a perfect spot in the console nest to the batteries...probably why my TR1 lasted so long...

1. Replace both bilge pumps...NOT fun...check 2. New Radar - going in this weekend - replacing 16 year old raymarine with Garmin 3. New depth finder - check - kept old transducer...was not that old. 4. Replace TR1 autopilot with new garmin (16 years old) - ordered. 5. re-gelcoat edges of fish...

I plug mine with one noted my fowl hooked...I drill a hole and run mono and make a loop...you plug it to keep the cold water in the box..

2500 hours is a pretty good amount... one of my 2002 F225's through rod at 1800 hours and I owned them since new...meticuously maintained...that was the first year of the F225 so maybe that had something to do with it ..... was only running 3800 RPM...never had corrosion....

That is probably your best option...they modified the 263 and made it at 273 i think in 2002...and added buoyancy to handle the heavier 2 strokes....Merc's are getting popular..let's hope the reliability is there... I have the 2002 273.
