    comparing 271 canyon to 283

    I moved up to a 283 Release CC last year (2005 model). I love this boat! Wide beam, runs great in the ocean. Like any other CC with the wind in the right direction you will get spray. I am a firm believer that bigger is better.

    The Ocean City NJ area is my home port. There is plenty of water but don't stray from the channel. Some if the inside corners on turns can get shallow.

    I removed the electric hatch lifter on my 283 Release to replace the end electric connections. This opens the electronics box. While I have it out is there any maintenance or lubrication that can be done on the unit. I figure while I have it out now it the time. It doesn't appear to come...

    Yes I am considering a small tent. Keeping the bugs away while sitting in the slip is a concern.

    I recently upgraded from a 24 WA to a GW 283 Release CC. No regrets with the style change but I am considering options for sleeping on the bow full v-cushions. I am considering a bow dodger or sun shade to offer some coverage/protection on those warm summer nights. Does anyone else sleep on...
