    Wrong Way Corrigan

The GPS can guesstimate your heading accurately by looking at your COG - course over ground. Problem is when moving slow - maybe you are fogged in somewhere and in a current - maybe trying to get thru a bridge. Your chart plotter map will spin around and be useless and dangerous. Same with...

    263 Chase Livewell Pump

My live well and bait tank pumps are Rule pumps. They screw into the clamshell pickup that may have a wash down pump on it now that can be re-connected to the side port. They are cartridge style pump available in 500, 700 and 1000 GPH. For a tank that size I would use the 700 or 1100 - depends...

    Screw Cap Window Insert 1993

Not clear from photo what you are really looking for. I assume it's that black plastic strip. I second Marine Glass Specialties.

    Bimini 306

Is this for topside exposed gelcoat? That FL sun will bleach it out. You are in a good area though. Ask around to find a good pro and have them do it.

2006 23 Gulfstream Jabsco Head / Holding Tank Hose Replacement

It's difficult to work on the holding tank on my 268 Islander. Not familiar with your boat but given it's smaller it doesn't get easier. These rubber hoses are very hard to work with in confined spaces where most work must be done with one hand. The macerator project I did I used silicone hose...

    Head

I have a working head with holding tank on my 268 Islander. It's almost never used as a head. I line the toilet with the black 5-gallon bags that the bucket head uses and have a small disposal bucket next to the head. Primarly used for #2 by the boys. It is a little inconvenient but less...

    '95 268 Islander Transom

You should replace all the transom wood. The problem is the transom separates from the stringers. Everything is damaged and hard to attach to. No other drawings.

    '95 268 Islander Transom

Best I can do... You are going to have to document it as you take it apart. I'm doing mine this summer. Plan is to cut out the deck around the well. Take top half of boat off.

    '95 268 Islander Transom

Transom sandwich for 268 from GW. Transom separates from stringers that hold it vertical. You need to replace parts of them too.

    '95 268 Islander Transom

Where in the world are you? Please update your profile. It looks really bad. But what I'm lookin for are stress cracks on the exterior of the transom. When they fail the transom rotates out with vertical stress cracks. Boat doesn't look well maintained. You are going to need more duct tape.

    Water in Sailfish

The water that gets into the boat will be under the fuel tanks at the dock. When you put the boat up on plane trim the nose up and the water will run to the aft compartment and be pumped out. You should be able to see it on your bilge pump dash light. Once it is dried out go fishing. At the end...

2001 Grady White 282 Sailfish - Macerator, Tank level monitor & Toilet pump assembly Install

Good searches always comes down to the keywords. “Groco macerator” is a precision search that can be refined from there. I would read thru some of the posts in the 7 pages and maybe add a one or two search terms to the original search. I know I have posted a dozen plus times on this topic...

2001 Grady White 282 Sailfish - Macerator, Tank level monitor & Toilet pump assembly Install

I always encourage new members to learn to search on GG when they first join. There is a tremendous amount of experience captured in GG forum posts. Look there and you can save yourself a lot of time and aggravation. Great Grady returned 7 pages of post related to Groco Macerator...

2001 Grady White 282 Sailfish - Macerator, Tank level monitor & Toilet pump assembly Install

Clearly you didn't spend any time learning how to search correctly. That Groco macerator is discussed often. Not really a big deal to fix. Hacking an alternative is a little problematic but been done before (several times).

    A month in Florida: Grady-White 275 or Axopar 37?

What kind of housing do you want to rent? Do you want the boat in the water all the time? I rent a house each year in Islamorada (Lower Mantacumbe) every year for 2 to 2 1/2 months. House is on a canal on Atlantic side. Many more houses on bay side. This is a quiet key (which we like). Longer...

    A month in Florida: Grady-White 275 or Axopar 37?

I've done Lauderdale and the Keys that time of year for 20+years. Pompano Beach, Islamorda and Key Colony Beach. Mostly Islamorada. What do you want to do there?

Access to the back of the Garmin MFDs on a 330 Express

My SD card reader (square one) is loose in the overhead box - you can see it next to the microphone cord blow the cover. There is no reason to ever remove the Active Captain card. Only one is permitted per "system" (not one per MFD). 8610xsv and 8612xsv MFD's. There is only the Active Captain SD...

    No vhf reception or transmission

Go to West Marine and buy a stubby VHF antenna. Good to have in your ASB in case you break the big one. You can get NOAA weather with a coat hanger for an antenna. Any boating friends with an antenna laying around? How about your marina? I would look around the last thing you did around the...

Access to the back of the Garmin MFDs on a 330 Express

Garmin offers an external SD card reader. Plugs into the back of the unit and you can put it somewhere easy to get to. Mine is loose and next to my VHF. I have an Active Captain 32GB SD card in the back of one of the units and other slots are unused. The external SD reader has 2 SD cards I use...
